I often grab a coffee after my Pilates class. Sometimes, I visit Inner Circle since it’s on my way to the car park. I usually ask for extra chocolate powder on my cappuccino and pay by card, simply tapping to complete the transaction. However, upon checking my card statement one day, I realized they had charged me an extra 70 cents.
The next time I went there, I asked the staff (a young woman) about it. She told me that there’s an additional charge for extra chocolate. I was shocked—no café I know charges extra for a sprinkle of chocolate powder on top! I politely questioned her, saying, “No one else charges for this. Why do you?” She replied rudely, saying, “That’s how we do it,” and charged me again.
What bothered me even more was when I saw her mixing old milk from another container into the fresh milk she was about to heat for my coffee. I’m lactose intolerant, so I immediately pointed it out, but she denied it. Despite my reservations, I drank the coffee and ended up with an upset stomach. After that experience, I decided not to visit that café again.
Unfortunately, on December 23rd, a friend who knows the café owner insisted we meet there. She also invited my mum. Although I wasn’t keen, I agreed to go. I ordered a coffee for myself and one for my mum. About 10 minutes later, the waitress brought our coffees. When I asked her, “Is this coffee made with oat milk?” she responded, “I’m not sure,” and took it away to check.
Meanwhile, my friend’s oat milk coffee and her husband’s coffee arrived. I waited nearly 30 minutes for my coffee, but it still didn’t show up. I had also ordered two friands, which hadn’t arrived either. Just to note, the café wasn’t busy at all that day. After 45 minutes, when everyone else had finished their coffee, I went to check on my order. I saw the owner and staff chatting casually, completely unbothered by my pending order.
Finally, my coffee arrived after I intervened, but it was cold and tasted strange. I don’t know what they put in it, but once again, I ended up with an upset stomach—a problem I’ve never had when getting coffee elsewhere.
Needless to say, I’m never going back to...
Read moreThis afternoon me and my friend went to this cafe and although I ordered something me and my friend weren’t allowed to eat a sushi we had already with us because they didn’t allow us “to eat food from a different place” now, I understand this type of response/treatment if it was an expensive restaurant and we were grabbing something from their competitors but my friend is vegan and couldn’t order something so got a vegan sushi. We Had an awful experience, we just wanted to sit for a chat and the guy who seemed to be the manager or whatever just told us that we weren’t allowed to eat there if we had food from elsewhere. Mate I paid my food from your store, what’s the problem? It’s a shopping centre not...
Read moreI went to this cafe on Saturday morning 26 Sept 2020 for a coffee with my friend (whom I hadn't seen in some time). We sat down at 9.35. Coffees arrived at 9.45. At 10.15 the manager came over and told us there was a time limit on staying, and we had 10 minutes before we needed to leave. I have never been told to leave a coffee shop because of time limits in my life. We weren't even there an hour! I have been to this coffee shop recently alone, and have never been told this. Where was the sign advising customers of this? Why were we not advised when we arrived? We didn't see any queue of people waiting. I will never go back. Has anyone been told this by this...
