I ordered two AƧai bowls next door at AƧai By The Beach and was very underwhelmed. I tried to post a review but it isn’t listed on google yet. Since it is the same owners as Jenny’s Cafe, I will leave my review here. The two AƧai bowls were way too overpriced for the portion size you get. I paid $43.70. They also surcharged me an extra 15%.

I told the girls who work there that this was not worth it and I will never come back. In fact I will discourage others from wasting their money here. The ingredients were cheap as well. I have had way better aƧai bowls in Cronulla area for only $13 each and they are huge portions. The girls who work there told me that I wasn’t the only one complaining. There were many other customers who complained about their rip off prices. The owners should do something about this or they will continue to lose customers. I will never come here again. If I could give them a negative star, I would. Jenny’s cafe may have once been good but ever since it is under new ownership who clearly do not care about their customers, they should be out of business. If you notice, they don’t even respond to their customer reviews whether negative or positive. The only reason they attract customers is due to their iconic location. As a hospitality professional myself, there deserves to be a better food outlet here than Jenny’s.

By the way the following photo is a picture of a proper aƧai bowl. Take note to what an aƧai bowl should...

We were not impressed. The juice we ordered was okay but room temperature and i asked for ice but they said they had none... then everyone's food came out, the porridge I ordered was meant to have poach peach on top but it didn't.. when I questioned it the lady said they had run out of poached pear, isn't this something you tell a customer before they order? My friend got the corn fritters were dry and flavourless, with side of brown avocado, also they sauce she asked for on the side and it came on the plate. Our other friends meals were the big breakfast, the bacon was inedible (very burnt) and the dish was not worth what we payed for it. It was fairly clear that we were unhappy with our meal as all the plates were left with food on them and we didn't hesitate to let them know we were underwhelmed with our breakfast. The cutlery and glasses asde also not as clean as you would expect. We then proceeded to pay almost $100 and were offered no compensation at all. Will not be...

If I could give zero stars, I would. To cut it short, this place Shouldn’t be operating.

We waited -half an hour- for two burgers. Ridiculous. While waiting, we saw them remove oil from the fryer—it was -black as petrol- and dropping it on the way. We ordered two beef burgers, and customisation wasn’t allowed. Despite this, one came with beetroot, the other without. Neither mentioned onions, yet both had them. The so-called -meat salad- was inedible so bad it made us feel like vomiting. The taste of the meat 🤢 To top it off, the -sweet potato fries- were cold and soggy.

Worst of all, the food made us sick—all four of us. We’ll definitely be reporting this to the health and safety authority.

Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place...

I ordered the eggs on toast with a side, which was OK. You can't really go wrong with that. My partner ordered a breakfast quesadilla. Now what turned up was not a quesadilla at all. It was a disgusting, greasy, overcooked burrito with no crunch on the tortilla. I appreciate that the chef may have never been to Mexico, however even just a quick google on quesadilla & burrito should have made the differences clear. Either update your menu to be more accurate, or better yet, just make it a bit more healthy and tasty - and don't call it a quesadilla when it clearly isn't one. For reference. Attached are pictures of a quesadilla (the flat one) and a breakfast burrito (the plump one), which were not taken at the cafe.

Jenny’s Cafe at BrontĆ« Beach is a great spot for classic fish and chips. After walking up and down the street of eateries, I decided on this place when I saw the generous plates being served to other customers. The fish was fresh, with a light coating of batter that wasn’t too thick, and the portion was generous. The chips were crisp and well-fried without being soggy. Best of all, you can sit alfresco by the pavement and enjoy views of the ocean while you eat – a perfect beachside experience.
