Our experience at Bronte Burgers was less than impressive. As soon as we arrived, we noticed a lot of people waiting for food and no friendly waiters. We waited 45 minutes for food that came out without an apology for the wait. We even waited 40 minutes to even be acknowledged after we ordered at the counter and receive water and cutlery (which was not clean). The café was not busy and all other customers were annoyed and had a long wait also. The food was also missing key components in the salads (that were listed on the menu) which would have definitely made a difference to the final product. The two staff we saw were overtly arguing in front of customers and made it a very unpleasant dining environment. We even saw the staff going to nearby places to get burger buns and hot food to then serve to the customers. Overall it was a very unprofessional and uncomfortable experience in a place that has great potential considering the surrounding location. Do not recommend, especially if you don’t like waiting for average, overpriced food...
Read moreI was pretty disappointed by this place. There must’ve been some sort of change since the other reviewers attended.
I wanted to have a nice meal with an old friend visiting from o/s, my partner & kid. A rare gathering I would liked to have honoured. We did our best to ignore some foul smell (possibly coming from the nearby bins, put out early, still during food service, though granted toward the end) and the pretty indifferent and uninformed service - whatever.
But if you’re going to do food in the eastern suburbs and charge nearly $20 for a lone (& not large) burger on a plate, you have to make it good. They were extremely ordinary at best. I’ve had better at suburban takeaways and paid half as much. My partner ordered a burger that was supposed to be on a charcoal bun; the bun was swapped out without mention or apology. Food had no ‘love’ or craft. It was not good food. A strangely disappointing experience...
Read moreBought two coffees from them on a reasonably busy Wednesday afternoon and noticed they only charged me for one. What I assume was the owner pushed aside a nice young lady at the til and proceeded to charge my card in an abrupt manner. Later to find the next day he had charged me $45 (not $4.50) for the coffee.
I called and was given the run around, I have left a couple messages plus a couple voice mails. No response!
From someone who has come from the industry and particularly with the point of sale systems that are in place now, it is very easy to determine over invoicing.
Awesome place if you want to be charged $49.50 for two reg coffees. Hats off to your lack of accountability to those customers who prop you business up. Not to mention the poor young lady who was literally man handled in front of a full shop.... Definitely in the wrong game I am sorry (one star is...
