I had lunch today at Kamatha Sri Lankan Restaurant in Toongabbie and it was a lovely experience. The restaurant serves authentic Sri Lankan food at very reasonable prices, especially when compared to places in Sydney CBD. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming — it’s clean, neat and well-kept. It’s also child-friendly and wheelchair accessible, which is great for families and anyone with mobility needs. I ordered a rice platter with chicken and three different vegetables. I chose yellow rice and honestly, the food was absolutely heavenly. The flavours were rich and delicious and everything tasted fresh. I enjoyed every bite and felt truly satisfied with the meal. The staff were another highlight of the visit. The lady who served the food was so kind and friendly and it really made the experience even better. The manager or owner also came over to chat and he was just as welcoming and warm. It’s clear that they care about their customers and take pride in their service. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty Sri Lankan food in a comfortable setting. Date:...
Read moreDo not be fooled by this restaurants closing time, they are not consistent at all, they just close the kitchen whenever they feel like it. Got to the restaurant at 7:00pm on a Saturday Night, was given by 2 menus by 1 of 3 waitresses, and constantly pressed every 5 minutes asking if we are ready to order. They take our order, and come back 2 minutes later, to turn around and say the kitchen is closed early despite their closing times saying otherwise. If the kitchen is closed, the least you could do is inform us BEFORE we take our seats. Seriously what was the point of giving us a menu taking our order if you weren't going to make it anyway? As for the food itself, during my 1st visit it was not the best, and every 3rd item you ordered from the menu was always unavailable. I cannot in any way recommend this restaurant, they are better alternatives just...
Read moreI had a fantastic experience at this Sri Lankan restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and truly authentic—it really brought the real taste of Sri Lanka to the table. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The place was clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere to dine in.
One of the best parts? Everything we ordered was available—something that’s surprisingly rare and definitely appreciated. Highly recommend this spot to anyone craving real Sri Lankan flavors. It would be even better if they had a Sri Lankan chef making hoppers—that would take the authenticity to...
