A true Lidcombe hidden gem! Kang-chon isn't just a Korean BBQ restaurantโ€”it's an experience that feels like a trip to the countryside. The moment you walk in, you can tell everything is done with incredible care. โ€‹The standout for me was the freshness of the ingredients. The meat sizzled with a flavour that only comes from high-quality, local produce. But the real secret weapon? The herbs and vegetables. The owner personally grows them in their own garden, and you can taste the difference. They're vibrant, crunchy, and packed with flavour, a testament to being grown with no chemicals or pesticides. โ€‹Don't miss the ssam (lettuce wraps). The combination of the perfectly cooked meat and those farm-fresh, organic herbs is a game-changer. It's a simple dish elevated to something truly special. โ€‹If you're looking for an authentic, wholesome, and unforgettable Korean BBQ feast, you need to go to Kang-chon. It's more than a mealโ€”it's a taste of a family's passion...

I don't think I've left a 1 star review in years but I had a bad experience here. Staff seemed to ignore our table alot and were dismissive when we try to order or get their attention. However for other tables who were speaking Korean, the staff were overly friendly and laughing all the time together. Examples were when we finished our kimchi (tiny side dish for whole table), we kindly asked for a refill which they simply ignored all night. We spent about $200 with 5 of us (2 girls who don't eat much) and we left hungry, going to Strathfield for more. The portions are small here.

We were on a tiny table which isn't there fault, however we had charcoal bbq and we ended up having to put things on the floor, we tried to finish 1 dish at a time to clear up the table and when I asked if they could take the empty plates away, they got upset by sighing and snickering, we didn't feel...

I often ate at this restaurant with my kids. Even when I went with them, we always ordered only one dish per person, and the portions were always so small that I was always disappointed. After reading the reviews, I understand. I'll never go back to this restaurant. They only gave us half the amount it should have been. It was like they were giving us someone else's leftovers... The portions were so small. I don't think I'll ever go back because of the service. At some point, every time I went, the portions kept getting ridiculously small, so I decided not to go. The difference was noticeable compared to other tables. Did they think it was okay to serve kids like that? If they did, I would have ordered...

We also enjoyed their cheese corn SM ๐ŸŒฝ๐Ÿ”ฅ itโ€™s so sweet and cheesy๐Ÿง€๐Ÿ˜† and itโ€™s always good to end the barbecue with a bowl of refreshing cold noodles! Itโ€™s really popular at night so remb to come earlier to avoid the queue! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’—

Itโ€™s up there with the finest K-BBQ restaurants in Sydney. Especially the marinated pork ribs. Itโ€™s safe to walk right in. The chef of KangChon knows how to make good Korean food with a real depth. You can taste it in their side dishes, sauces and marinated meat. I had the smoked duck, pork belly, Wagyu beef, marinated pork ribs, Japchae and soft tofu stew. If you want the true K-BBQ experience, you got to cook your meat on hot charcoals. This is the true Korean BBQ so make sure you try this as well. They give generous amount of greeneries and I felt like I was BBQing in the middle of Seoul. For these reasons I give this place 4 bears.
