1 Star – A Scam Dressed as Entertainment: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Complete Videos Will Be Shared Soon On Social Media. I previously left a detailed review exposing DOOLEYS Lidcombe’s deceptive gambling practices. Since then, I’ve contacted them directly with a formal email, offering to discuss my experience and even sharing that I have video evidence of their machines manipulating outcomes. Unsurprisingly, they haven’t bothered to respond—because they know it’s true. This place is not entertainment—it’s a calculated money trap. Their machines are clearly programmed to bait you with small wins and then gut your wallet as soon as you increase your bets. And guess what? The timing of their recent expansions speaks volumes: they’re using your losses to fund their renovations. It’s a disgrace. DOOLEYS Lidcombe hides behind “PR responses” and refuses to engage when someone calls them out with proof. That alone tells you everything you need to know. I strongly urge anyone considering gambling here to think twice. If you value your money, your time, and your dignity, STAY AWAY. Earlier Review A MONTH AGO. A Complete Scam – They Let You Win at First, Then Drain You Dry! This place is a total rip-off. At first, it feels like you’re on a lucky streak—small wins here and there to keep you hooked. But don’t be fooled. The moment you start feeling confident and bet a little more, the machines turn ice cold. It’s a clear strategy to reel you in, make you think you have a chance, and then rob you blind. And let’s not ignore the elephant in the room—THE RENOVATIONS. They just acquired a new area, and guess where the money is coming from? You. Instead of giving players fair odds or even improving the gambling experience, they’re using every cent lost at the machines to fund their expansion. The old gambling floor is outdated, depressing, and neglected, but they don’t care because their real priority is milking as much cash as possible from unsuspecting players. This isn’t entertainment—it’s daylight robbery disguised as gambling. If you step into this place, expect to leave with empty pockets and a bitter taste in your mouth. 0/5 – Stay far away unless you enjoy being scammed!

Dooleys Lidcombe is one of those rare gems that manages to balance classic pub vibes with a surprising amount of charm and community spirit. Whether you’re after a hearty feed, a relaxed catch-up with friends, or just a spot to unwind, this place absolutely delivers. I’ve been coming here on and off for years, and it’s always been a reliable go-to for late-night hangs. There’s something comforting about knowing there’s a place nearby where the kitchen’s open, the drinks are flowing, and the welcome’s warm—no matter the hour. On our most recent visit, we were lucky enough to catch a live band and even some line dancing—yes, line dancing! And honestly? It gave the whole evening a surprisingly vibrant and fun twist. The atmosphere was buzzing, the crowd was lively (but still family-friendly), and it just felt like the kind of night you didn’t want to rush home from. The food is classic pub fare done right—think generous portions, consistent quality, and something for everyone. Whether you’re in the mood for schnitty and chips, a burger, or something a little fancier, you’ll find it on the menu. And with plenty of seating, it’s easy to find a cosy corner or join the livelier crowd near the stage. What really makes Dooleys stand out, though, is its role as a community hub. It’s more than just a venue—it’s hosted birthdays, late-night chats, casual reunions, and spontaneous weekend plans for so many of us over the years. Grateful for a spot like this in Lidcombe. It’s classic, it’s comfortable, and it still knows how to surprise you every now and then. Long live the line dancing!

Two handy tips - become a member, it’s cheap and you’ll instantly gain access to discounted food and beverages. Tip 2, if you’re planing on eating in the bistro here, when you order you’ll be asked which table that you’re sitting at - so, before you order, secure your table, remember the table number, then order. We ordered the Atlantic salmon and a steak - both meals were great. And a person, from the kitchen, delivered the meals to our table. This club has been clean every time that we’ve visited. The club is well known for its cheaper meals, cafe, friendly atmosphere and gambling facilities- in fact, an area not far from the front foyer has been recently converted to a sports bar with gambling machines and an extremely large TV - it’s a punter’s paradise. Staff have always been friendly at this club. A sign at the club today says that the current bistro area is about to be upgraded, and the bistro will be moved temporarily upstairs. The facility is wheelchair friendly. The club is located in a handy position - opposite the train station and taxi rank - the bus stops are listed one block away. There’s plenty of on-site car parking spots here.

As a security you should be able to read the people body language and notice a single behaviour of people when needed thats what you guys get paid for . anyway i solved my...

Came here last Saturday and the 2 check in ladies out the front were super friendly.

The food isn't too bad if you want pub grub (garlic bread was delicious but the steak was ok), and the Dragon 8 restaurant was also a hit or miss (Laksa and Singaporean noodles were delicious but the 雪菜肉絲 was pretty bad), but not the best place to take really young kids if that's what you're after.

Was super excited walking into this place for the kids play area. Unfortunately the excitement quickly dissipated as soon as we settled. A few things needed for improvement:

There is no enclosure for the play area so all 4 out of the 4 kids that we came with aged 1, 2, 3 and 4 all waddled out of the play area. We kept having to run out and stop the kids from running out the door so none of the parents could really relax.

There's only one restaurant on the same floor as the kids play area. It took us ages to find a way up to the Vietnamese restaurant as the lifts only went down for some reason. We then walked down the stairs only to find that that lift also only went down. When we asked the front desk, they said the restaurant was closed. Odd, as it was lunch time on a Saturday. While I was blindly navigating around, I stumbled upon a Chinese restaurant downstairs. Sadly the only eat in in its own establishment or take away. It would be more convenient if all the restaurants were all together in one food court kinda layout rather than scattered across different floors. It is clear they want people to spend some time on the pokie machines as there is a big room next to eat restaurant on each floor.

This isn't the most family friendly "Catholic Club"...
