With a very heavy heart I have to write this, but something needs to be done. This place for years was my go to Sushi joint. It never failed. We were looked after by Sumi every single time me and my friends would go for lunch or dinner. Since Sumi has left the place has gone drastically down hill and it pains me to say it but this isnt the same place it used to be. The service is very average, people can barely communicate with you, the chopsticks and soy sauce you have to ask for. They bring the food out with out any chopsticks on the table. The food has also gone drastically downhill. We always get pretty much the same order either a Kanji or tiger roll with another medium. The kanji roll used to be the best of the best. Last night my missus and I got 1 kanji and 1 tiger to share. Both rolls were cold. The tiger is supposed to be warm atleast.
Additionally, my girlfriend had to wipe the table down after the previous table had left. The waitress took the plates but the table still had sauces all over it. Pretty basic stuff. Furthermore the table infront of us were waiting for a table filled with plates and multiple staff walked past without clearing the table. They ended up moving to a different table when they could get one and the messy table they were waiting for remained dirty.
Another small issue that bothered me was the fact that when i was ordering a customer asked for a takeaway box to put his food in. The lady said thatll be 50c and he mentioned he had just spent $100 on food. I think he has a fair point. when a customer spends $100 on dinner the least the shop can do is provide a free plastic container.
i am not sure where Sumi has gone, but if she is around she needs to come back to Sylvania before people start walking away. This place used to be amazing. customer service was 10/10 and the food was always brilliant.
ever since sumi left it hasnt been the same. Poor to zero customer service. My girlfriend even mentioned that when we first started going they used to all greet you upon arrival and say goodbye when leaving. It made you feel welcomed and appreciated. Now you don't even get a hello.
Its unfortunate that I have to write this because this place was once a great shop. Now I try and avoid going unless my girlfriend or friends are in the...
Read moreStaff were unfortunately rude and wasn't clear on communicating. Were mouthing off in Korean as they didn't realise I understood them. Initially told that they can't deliver so drove there for 15mins as my toddler was very hungry and recovering from cancer. Menulog indicated it can be delivered but rang to say they can't have it delivered on the "menulog time". Were talking to & fro only to realise that they actually gave the order to a "delivery person". They added that they didn't know that the person who picked up my order before me "wasn't a delivery person" as they "didn't look like one". So my order was actually delivered to my place when I was at their sushi shop. Were all laughing as I was walking out hopefully not out of embrassment from themselves. Lots of areas for improvement there especially mere professionalism. We all deserve basic decency. To the manager's credit, she sent an apology...
Read more3 years ago I rated this place 5 stars. But my last few experiences have been terrible..
First of all they have no GF soy sauce and they no longer serve beer, you can have a small water in a dentist cup.
Secondly the sushi is premade and served to you, but still at the fresh made prices. My sushi today was cold, dry and the tuna tasted off. I could tell it was premade and it may have even been made the day prior it was that dry.
Thirdly, the scallops have now been Sliced in to a 3rd or 4th of a scallop. Cost cutting on a very expensive dish and also impacts the flavour...I don't want a tiny dry and cold scallop Frisbee... I want an actual scallop, which is what we paid for...and the picture in store illustrates.
I used to be really impressed with this place but after the last few visits and especially after today I will...
