Muffin Break Southgate — Restaurant in Sydney

Since the new owners took over the staff look depressed and food has become poor quality. Took over 10 minutes for the owner to make my iced coffee after asking staff several times how to make it ( staff looked extremely annoyed with him ). He has no clue and no rights owning a cafe. You would think a franchise like Muffin Break would have higher standards and training. I can see this shop closing down as there are much better options in the shopping centre. What a shame!!! Terrible! Came here the day before fathers day and they were unorganised, and just uncomfortable. Who hires staff who can barely speak simple english? I much enjoyed my visit here in the beginning of the year. I cant begin to fathom what went so wrong in 9 months. Muffins were terrible, food tasted old, not clean, weird tasting coffee and when I saw inside the back kitchen with the cook in it, I wanted to vomit. Never coming back here again and wouldn't recommend...

The food here is beautiful tasty and fresh, they’re savoury tarts are delicious, my coffee was just how I like it and it was my first time there. My carrot cake was moist and tasted homemade not like the tasteless mass manufactured cakes you get now.
