The Crest Hotel Sylvania — Restaurant in Sydney

Our initial experience here at crest hotel was the most terrible thing we've experienced. The bold seccy was so rude and so disrespectful- burping right in our faces and felt as if he was racially profiling us. His attitude and overall demeaner was so negative and unwelcoming. This is my first ever google review and I simply could not let this go as this was the first time someone was so disrespectful right in our faces. I would NEVER recommend people to come here at all just because of him. We also work in hospitality and I have never come across someone so rude and entitled. He checked my ID on the NSW service app which clearly shows my DOB and denied entry stating there was too many fake IDs nowadays. This guy i swear was on some massive powertrip, I was speechless. We were looking for places to eat. We did not come here to drink at all. He is old and does not understand how technology works and was questioning when I logged in using my friend's service app. He let us in in the end but I lost my appetite and did not want to eat here at all. Went for trivia and the host was good. It was a good variety of questions. She (Meggs, I believe) was clear and helpful. Lots of sports questions (not my preference).

Table was sticky, asked politely for it to be cleaned. Took 30+ mins to get my haloumi burger and chips + bruschetta (avoid, it's just garlic bread with diced tomatoes and onion). My table got their meals 10mins earlier which was a vegetable stack and rump steak W chips and salad (sauce was a miss). It was a busy restaurant so some forgiveness there. Took another 10mins for plates to be collected. Staff need to be more diligent and less careless. I have worked in retail for 10 years. Even if you don't like the work you gotta do what is best for the customer. Would I visit again? Probably not. Lots of parking as it's near Southgate Shopping...

The hotel itself is a great place to hang out with friends but the bistro on the other hand has made me give it only 1 star. The food was something you would make half drunk and with no care in the world. The service was terrible i asked for a bowl of wedges and extra sour cream and extra sweet chilli sauce. What i was served was a bowl of steamed vegetables with a small dollop of sour cream and sweet chilli sauce even though i asked for extra. Even after all this and me waiting for them to sort out what had happened they expected me to pay the extra $2 even though they were at fault, At other bistros if that would happen they would be more courteous and not expect me to pay which was the last straw.
