I enjoyed my visit to Kicken Inn. The restaurant offers a unique and novelty dining experience with its interactive environment, where customers don gloves and bibs and have to eat off the table. However, while the novelty factor was exciting, I found the food quality to be a bit hit and miss. We ordered the mini mixed bag and a side of 1/2 dozen oysters, along with the Kicken Shrimp Martini. The shrimp martini was huge, but unfortunately the chips were overly soaked in sweet chili sauce, making them soggy towards the bottom. Additionally, the batter on the prawn cutlets was quite thick, nothing too different from what you would get from a local fish and chip shop. I opted for the garlic cajun sauce with inferno heat for the mixed bag, which provided a satisfying level of spiciness without being overwhelming. The mixed bag was well-marinated, generously portioned, and saucy. Although I felt the oysters we ordered were small and lacked freshness. They also arrived late, which was a disappointment. One major inconvenience was the lack of utensils for the rice, particularly considering it wasn't sticky rice. Eating long grain rice with wet hands proved to be challenging. Despite these drawbacks, I would consider revisiting Kicken Inn to try their mussels and octopus, perhaps opting for sides that are easier to eat, like bread or potatoes. However, the pricing is steep for the experience, totaling $105 *gasp* for our two meals, and entree and a Coke Zero. While it's a fun spot for a casual outing with friends, I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic evening or a first date and most certainly not if you're on a budget.

I arrived late to a birthday lunch at the Campbelltown location. After waiting to be seated for sometime I joined the table without being showed to the table. I was there for just under and hour, no one came to the table to offer a drink or clear the table. A couple of times people at the table asked for it to be cleared by passing staff before the cake. The cake came without it being cleared, someone said even the manager asked for it to be cleared, it still wasn't. The cake was put down next to the slop all over the table & happy birthday was sung by 3 staff and still nothing was cleared. TBH it was really gross. I asked the birthday person if they enjoyed their lunch and service. He said yes except for the lack of clearing of the table. I can't vouch for the food but the service I'm sorry to say was dismal, the table was just covered in empty glasses & plants and like a said, slop, being the juices of crabs etc. I get that's part of the appeal of eating at this place but to dump a birthday almost in it, really was a shame. I don't make a habit of negative reviews but I'm hoping this review helps to correct the service of what could be a pretty funky place.

I have been to Kickin’inn Campbelltown a number of times unfortunately I have the worst experience there 1. Food was cold and tasteless 2. Crabs tasted like it’s about to go bad and it was so mushy and disgusting 3. 2 times we found hair in our food first time we asked the waitress to please change the bag he said I can’t change the whole bag I can get u 10 crabs we said okay before the 10 crabs arrive we found another piece of hair in the other half of the crab we asked to talk to the manager and the manager was so rude and disrespectful he didn’t offer canceling the bill and he didn’t want to bring a new mixed bag since the other one was bad we asked to talk to the owner since we talked to the owner before more then 3 times and the guy was so nice and helpful about it and in these 3 times he didn’t charge us and we got a new bag. But today the so called manager didn’t do anything about it and instead he was so rude when we said we will report this he said “ you can’t do anything ma’am “ and he only gave us 25% discount and he cancelled the 10 crabs. Definitely not worth spending your money and getting food posing 0/10 definitely not recommended

Went to Kickin'Inn Campbelltown for the first time for a birthday dinner with 14 people. On arrival we didn't get shown to our table, the guy pointed to the back of the restaurant and said our table was "down there in the corner." Our order was taken in good time but the waitress serving us didn't introduce herself to us or explain how the menu or dinner worked. Entrees came and were delivered to the far end of the long table and guests had to call out "who ordered the chicken wings, who ordered the garlic bread" etc and pass the plates down. Our garlic bread was mostly eaten by other guests before we realised it was ours. We received a bowl of sweet potato chips we didn't order, but kept them anyway. The food came out in good time but they forgot to give us my husband's meal. When everyone was half way through their dinner we reminded a waitress that we didn't get his meal. We reminded them again a little while later but his meal never came. By now everyone was nearly finished eating so my husband told them not to worry about it. (We shared our meals with him.) Three people felt the lobster tasted funny. The salt and pepper squid is not salt and pepper, it is just plain crumbed squid, nothing special, and you get 2 tiny single serve blister packs of tartare sauce with it, no special chef made tartare sauce. They pour your food onto the paper covered table. If you order rice with your meal it comes in a paper takeaway container which you are supposedly supposed to tip out onto the table as well i guess. No cutlery is provided or offered to eat with but it is available if you ask. Not a good look scooping up rice and sauce with your fingers, sorry. Needless to say I asked for a fork. Jugs of drinks were ordered but they didn't provide enough cups and this meant further attempts to get the attention of a waitress. Staff never asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and therefore didn't provide us with the option to have a small mud cake and staff sing happy birthday. We saw this happen at another table and had to enquire about how we could have this special treatment for our friend's birthday. They gave us 3 individual desserts for 14 people with a candle on each and we sung happy birthday. This was free due to not getting our meal. Then we found a hair in one of the desserts. After dinner I left the table to go to the ladies room and when I came back all the drinks were cleared from the table without asking if we had finished. I had peeled prawns in garlic sauce with rice on a plate with a fork and it was nice, hence 2 stars given. The bill was over $1,000.00 which is very pricey. Won't be going back. Should have...

Absolutely Disappointed – Long-Time Customer Treated Poorly!

If I could give 0 stars I would.

I've been a loyal customer of Kickin' Inn Campbelltown for a long time now. I've spent thousands of dollars here and always raved about how amazing the food is – fresh, full of flavour, and totally worth the price. But after my recent experience, I’m honestly questioning if I’ll ever go back.

I called to place a takeaway order for the Mini Mixed Bag, and I simply asked if I could swap the mussels for pipis – something I’ve done multiple times before without any issue (even if it meant paying extra). Instead of offering a solution or at least being polite, I was told flat out “no” because the bags are apparently “pre-made and frozen.” Excuse me? You’re charging me $132 for a frozen bag and can’t even accommodate a simple swap? That’s unacceptable, especially from a business that prides itself on customisable, fresh seafood. And it gets worse – the manager actually started arguing with me, claiming he's worked there for over 2 years and has never done that swap. Either he’s lying, or seriously out of touch, because I’ve done it myself many times without a problem. It felt like he was gaslighting me as a paying customer.

To treat a loyal, returning customer like that is just ridiculous. If the food wasn’t so good (normally), I wouldn’t have spent so much money here in the past. But after being spoken to so disrespectfully and being told I’m basically wrong about my own experiences, I’m honestly done. Get your customer service together. If your bags are really frozen and you’re charging $132 for them, at least train your staff to speak to customers with respect and offer proper alternatives instead of shutting them down and arguing.

Such a...
