I am often not one to write reviews but I feel like other patrons should avoid this place like the plague. I ate at this establishment a while ago now, while waiting for a flight and I ordered a spicy chicken wrap and an apple juice. Now I understand it's the airport so prices are going to be higher than usual. However, it cost me $26 for just 2 items. You could feed a family of 4 at McDonald's for this ludicrous price.
Concerning my items - my wrap was disgusting as my chicken was cold and the bread tasted stale. I believe there was spinach inside as well, but this also was not cooked very well making me choke on almost every mouthful. There was also some sort of an orange paste with pine nuts but this was gluggy and unappealing. My apple juice was organic and was probably smaller than a 330ml tiny bottle of coca cola. If I had known they had only sold organic I wouldn't have bothered with a beverage of any kind. I guess because it was organic it must seem justifiable as to why they can charge a higher price right? This tasted like dirty sea water.
I noticed there was an upstairs dining area, but when I asked a staff member if I cold sit up there I was answered coldly no it was unavailable. The staff were also very unhelpful and did the bare minimum. For example, where I was sitting gave me direct line of sight of the kitchen. I kid you not ever 2 minutes, 2 staff members just pulled out their phones whenever they had nothing to do. Maybe they were tired or it was almost the end of their shift? This is unacceptable behaviour.
To conclude this spiel, I made a fatal error as I looked at the facebook reviews which was just slightly over a par rating instead of the google reviews which slammed this place. Lesson learnt I won't be doing that again.
TLDR - save your money and go to literally anywhere else in the airport, including a newsagency as they could give you a better...
Read moreThe whole experience highlights several issues with its management, particularly related to customer service and order management.
We were disappointed about what happened to us, but hopefully this provides some inights if the branch manager wishes to improve its service.
We ordered a classical breakfast and watermelon salad. After 15min, the waiter came to tell us that they run out of ingredients for classical breakfast, noting this was 10.30am and still early for the day. They should've given us a heads-up when we at the counter, and set the expectation right.
We told the waiter to switch to (simple?) Mike's breakfast, and asked for a refund for the price difference. He went away and disappeared without any follow-up. In the end, we had to chase up another waitress about it, but apparently she didn't know what to do either! Eventually she got (maybe) the floor manager to help process the refund. Train your people properly please!
After we asked to change the order, we had to wait for another 15min before they served the dishes (attached the photo to show how simple the dishes were). At this point, I'm still not sure whether they prioritised our order or not, given we've already waited for so long.
Also, the waitress tried to take away my coffee before I could finish it...
The whole meal cost $60 for two of us, so the price is at the higher end. But it's at the airport, so maybe justifiable.
On the plus side, the dished look nice...
Read moreQuality food on offer, if only working to a classic menu with burgers and beer, this locally rated restaurant is a nice environment to while away the hours though come in expecting to pay for the privilege.
The beer range covers all your bases but leaves plenty to the imagination, and at $13 a bottle, even a locally brewed craft beer is whingingly expensive!
The staff are lovely and polite - an admirable trait compared to other folks working at the airport. They’ll make life pretty easy if you set up for a wee while and want to order a bit more.
Go here for a pleasant experience, with top quality food, just brace yourself for the classic...
