Cafe Review: Shane, Kendall, and Albert
Nestled in the heart of downtown, Shane, Kendall, and Albert Cafe offers a delightful blend of ambiance, flavor, and service. My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed and eager to return.
Atmosphere: 4.5/5
The cafe boasts a cozy yet modern interior, with soft lighting and comfortable seating that invites you to linger. The decor is a tasteful mix of vintage and contemporary elements, creating a welcoming space perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet afternoon with a book. The background music is unobtrusive, adding to the relaxed vibe without overpowering conversation.
Food and Drinks: 5/5
The menu is a treasure trove for foodies. From artisanal sandwiches and fresh salads to decadent pastries, every item is crafted with care. I opted for the avocado toast, which was perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. The highlight, however, was the flat white – rich, creamy, and expertly brewed. Their coffee beans are sourced from local roasters, ensuring a fresh and robust flavor in every cup. For tea lovers, the selection is equally impressive, with a range of blends to suit every palate.
Service: 4.5/5
The staff at Shane, Kendall, and Albert are friendly and attentive. Despite the bustling environment, they managed to deliver prompt service with a smile. The baristas are knowledgeable about their craft and happy to make recommendations based on your preferences.
Value: 4/5
While the prices are slightly higher than average, the quality of the food and drinks justifies the cost. The cafe also offers free Wi-Fi, making it an ideal spot for remote work or study sessions, adding extra value to your visit.
Overall: 4.5/5
Shane, Kendall, and Albert Cafe is a gem in the downtown area. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur, a foodie, or simply looking for a cozy spot to unwind, this cafe has something for everyone. I highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about my experience here. I was looking for a healthy vegan option at the airport. The green breakfast bowl here was pretty much the only option I could find and I was grateful for the offering on the menu. The dish concept is lovely, protein: edamame, sunflower and pepita seeds; brown rice for carbs and rocket salad avocado broccoli and spinach for macro nutrients.
I ate some of the meal and halfway through and I did think the rocket didn’t seem super fresh but I wasn’t too picky about it until I noticed tiny maggots moving in the meal. My partner went to get a refund and the lady processed it, apologized and was really lovely. She took action and called right away the kitchen, however she had to say “calm down I’m just letting you know” to the chef.
I have managed cafes myself for many years and done my food safety supervisor - I’d like to point out that maggots in food can hatch in the gut and cause an infection. This matter needs to be taken very seriously and I hope that action was taken upon this so it won’t happen again. Handling food is a big responsibility and if done wrong can make...
Read moreI had the pleasure of being served by Sally at the Grand Cru bar and coffee in Terminal T1, and she truly made my airport experience memorable. Sally’s warm smile and friendly demeanor immediately brightened my day. Not only is she exceptionally skilled as a barista, but her attention to detail and efficiency during a busy rush were impressive.
She took the time to ensure my order was perfect, recommending the best coffee blend that matched my taste. It was clear she genuinely cares about her customers and their experience. The coffee itself was fantastic – rich, smooth, and well-prepared.
Thank you, Sally, for going above and beyond to provide such outstanding service. I’ll definitely be stopping by Grand Cru again on my next...
