Cleanliness: Male Toilet was very clean 9/10 Plates, tongs and scissors were clean 9/10 The restaurant looks clean and tidy 9/10
Food Refill: Raw meat was generally refilled promptly Sushi were continuously freshly made and refilled Deep Fried Soy Garlic Chicken - was full when we arrived but totally empty and not refilled when we left
Food Recommendations: For grilling: Wagyu Eye Roll, Yakiniku Beef Sauce: Korean BBQ dipping sauce Sushi: Raw Salmon Sushi, Lightly Grilled Salmon Sushi Cooked Food: Deep Fried Soy Garlic Chicken, Kimchi Pancake Soup: Seaweed Soup Generally, all the food were of good quality.
Comfort: The smoke suction duct above the grill was effective in sucking up all the grilling smoke. 2 persons sharing 1 grill is comfortable. I'd imagine 2-4 persons per grill is OK. If more than 4 persons, your group should split into multiple tables. As it is winter, I didn't feel hot while grilling. Seat was comfortable.
Service: Greeted by a guy with curly hair at the door and shown the way to table Same guy brought the piping hot charcoal stove and grill. Used plates were not cleared quickly but if you reach out to the wait staff, they will gladly clear them for you Payment was served by same friendly guy
Indoor or Outdoor: Choose indoor, if available
Final Verdict: Value For Money: 10/10 Food Quality: 9/10 Service: 8/10 Definitely will come back again
Tips: Table reservation does not give you priority over walk-ins. So, arrive earlier. Visit earlier rather than later, to avoid the busy lunch/dinner crowds and avoid cooked food running out and not being refilled. If you are more than 4 persons, split into 2 separate tables to avoid having too many people sharing 1 grill. Choose the tables away from other tables, if they are available, to get more privacy and less noise/smoke from other tables. Check the start time on the docket when you are seated. Set an alarm 10-15 minutes before the 90-minute deadline to notify yourself. If you exceed the 90 minutes, you are liable for additional charges. Don't drink carbonated drinks before and during meal, as it fills up your tummy with cheap sugary drinks instead of good food which you pay good money for. Only take food that you are able to consume. Food wastage is charged extra. Pay cash to get...
Read moreVisited this buffet on a Sunday afternoon. There were about 30 people queueing in front of the door at 5 pm for the early bird discount. First lesson learned that if you want to sit indoors, you will either come really early or make a booking. Sadly, we arrived just before opening, and we did not book our seats. There were not enough seats for everyone inside the restaurant, so we were asked to sit outdoors, which we noticed the disadvantages of it during our meal. There were not so many varieties of dishes. You got some deep fried chicken and spring rolls, some Korean style side dishes which are quite nice. There were some fried rice and pasta dishes which were not so popular with dinners. For seafood we got cooked prawns and row squid. And for meat, we got pork belly and a few different types of beef. The problem is there is no label in front of every item, so you have to take a guess what you are getting unless you are lucky enough to catch a waitress and ask her for the items.
Because we were sitting outside which means we need to walk about a minute to reach the food bars and then take all the food back to our table holding all the plates and bowls as there were not trays supplied for dinners outdoors. And to push extra sales for drinks, they only serve table water with those little tiny paper cups and you have to fill them up yourself inside the restaurant under a small tap next to one of the food bar and then carry the cups back to your seat and again no trays supplied. After 2 refills, we basically gave up on water and took orange slices instead as it is much easier to carry a bowl of fruit and walk around.
The food tastes ok and for the price we pay but another problem comes to our notice as the nice BBQ smells attract flies, a lot of flies. Almost every table sitting outdoors had to have one person keep chasing the flies away before they land on your food, which is very annoying.
Overall, the experience was ok, and there were plenty of room for them to improve. I will consider this place again if any family member craves for Korean BBQ again, and I will make sure to make a...
Read moreHave been coming here for the past couple months as a regular and it’s been great but Tonight, I had the WORST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE at Kong’s BBQ in Macquarie Park.
Our table finished eating and we went to pay at the counter and the Asian manager with a buzzcut told me to finish my food before paying. Sat down, came back to the counter and I was again asked to finish my food. Once again, I sat down again and now everyone from the table went to the counter to pay for our meal but surprise surprise, our entire group was told to finish the food before paying and leaving by this manager.
The food remaining was literally two sushi roll slices, a small chicken drumstick, a piece of a kimchi pancake and three takoyaki balls. The manager with a very short buzz cut screams out to us “finish your food, we do not want wastage here!” and highlights how much I’m wasting, saying “there are chips and heaps of food left on the table!” Those chips were in fact orange peel skins lmao. I ask the man “there is literally nothing left, 3 pieces tops.” The manager then goes over to the table from behind his counter and verbally counts and physically points to 8 items on the table. By doing so, we leave the que and everyone else waiting to pay and leave…
By this point, I ask the manager “if it’s money you want, please tell me as we are happy to pay whatever you need for this, we just cannot finish these last 3 or 8 pieces of food, there is basically nothing left” and he yells back before calming himself and says “finish it, we don’t want money, we don’t encourage ANY wastage”.
I have NEVER in my life had to EXPLAIN myself, let alone to be TOLD to finish my food and then ARGUE in front of the entire restaurant with this extremely rude manager as he told my entire table to “finish my food before leaving and paying”. After going back and forth for 10 minutes, he finally said, “this time it’s fine, next time do not waste anymore food, even if it is 3 or 8 pieces!”.
We are absolutely traumatised. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Good food but ruined by honestly the worst dining experience I have ever...
