Visited for lunch around midday on a weekday, fully aware it was the peak of the lunch rush—so a bit of a wait was expected. We were seated fairly quickly, although our table was right in front of the kitchen, which turned out to be less than ideal. When we were ready to order, we pressed the call button and saw our table number pop up on the display. It disappeared after a short while, so I pressed it again just to be sure. Thankfully, our order was picked up soon after, and the food didn’t take long to arrive despite how hectic the restaurant was. Staff were running around, a clear sign of how busy things were. We ordered the roti canai with beef rendang, roti telur with curry chicken, Pappa deep fried chicken skin to share, and drinks: a teh C special and a teh tarik with coffee jelly. A waiter came back to inform us that there was no more coffee jelly and suggested grass jelly in which I agreed to and ended up being delicious still. The drinks arrived first, though they were served in plastic cups. Not a huge issue—likely due to the high turnover and perhaps not enough time to cycle glassware through the dishwasher. The food and drinks itself was delicious — flavourful and satisfying. I’d definitely return, though I’d aim for a quieter time. The atmosphere was quite loud, which is understandable during the lunch rush, but still a bit overwhelming. Next time, I’d also request to sit away from the kitchen. At one point, something in the kitchen was smoking, which made it a little hard to breathe and had me almost tearing up. Overall, great food and decent service under pressure. Just be prepared for a high-energy environment during peak hours.

This place used be so good, but the quality and the portions of the food has degraded over the years. Regardless, I always thought it wasn't worth to leave any kind of review until now. I just had my terrible experience with my last visit that is worth mentioning. Usually, I order their most popular dishes, but I was feeling like eating fried food on that day. I ordered 6 chicken wings, chips and milk tea. Let me start by saying that I am proud to say I have an iron gut and can stomach everything. However, this is the first time in a decade that I've felt queasy with a churning stomach and multiple visits to the bathroom. The chicken wings were tasteless, chips tasted like they were fried in very old oil and they were very stingy with the mayonnaise on the side. Not to mention that they gave me hot milk tea when I wanted cold, but they never asked or specified when I ordered. I figured they only gave cold drinks by default because the menu only shows images of cold drinks. It would help if staff would ask first if we preferred the drinks to be served hot or cold (usually I specify on the order paper that I would like my drink cold, but on that day they wanted us to order at the cashier). I gave it a two star instead of one because other dishes are still alright, but the portions are still smaller than the picture shown on the menu itself. It's very deceiving. I'm disappointed that one of my loved restaurants has gone downhill.

After my dining experience in multiple Papparich's around Sydney, I was excited to try out Macquarie's franchise. I was very disappointed with the experience. My meal consisted of the Sambal Sotong (Squid with Sambal paste) and a Chill Pan Mee. The Samabal Sotong didn't taste very fresh at all, and the squid tasted like it was placed into the fryer, ruining the flavour and the texture of the squid. Furthermore, the Chill Pan Mee was very bland, the egg and the noodles not seasoned very well. The mined meat that came with it however was very nice, with the vegetables and ikan belis (Anchovies) tasting very nice. The Assam Laksa that my friend had didn't taste like authentic assam laksa that other Papparich's or Malaysian restaurants taste like; it was very watery. Although the service from the staff was very good, with no mix up with orders, the food reflects poorly on Malaysian cuisine and the Papparich franchise. I have returned over the course of a year to see improvement, but it seems like it has not. I hope the management takes this feedback with consideration.

I ordered take away from PappaRich Macquarie Centre one day - fried noodle. Took it home and had it right away (probably within 1 hour). Half way through eating, found a suspicious looking item which to me looked like a dried maggot. Stopped eating right away out of disgust and took photos. Next morning got diarrhoea and had to go to the loo a few times before my stomach settled down in the afternoon. Went back to PappaRich and asked to speak to the Manager. Some guy walks over (looked very young) and after showing him the photos and told him about my condition he just asked if I went to see doctor - to which I told him the doctors around here are shut over the xmas holidays and I'm not going to go out of my way just to find one that opens. He told me to send the photos to "head Office' to see what they said. I decided to send photos to PappaRich FB messenger and it took them 5 days to get back to me to say that the picture I took was just a part of the noodle with some pre-filled message saying 'we value our food safety seriously'. I wrote back that to me it did not look like the noodle (noodle was big and this was half the size) plus I was sick after eating it. I expressed that they clearly do not value customer satisfaction seriously as obviously I was not satisfied with what was in my food. They took another 4 days to get back to me that they will not be offering any refund as I do not have a medical certificate and that it is against their company policy. Oh well...so much for trying to win customer satisfaction! I will not be back at the restaurant and will surely tell all my friends, colleagues and social media follows to do the same. If you don't mind about customer service being below standard be my guest and go there or otherwise go next door to Chef's...

I remember passing this restaurant by accident At that time, there were so many people, so I wanted to go to that restaurant and try the food, so I visited with my boyfriend But it was so disappointing that the staff felt directly that they were ignoring us and that some male staff were mistaken that we were ordering one of the food and sharing it , in fact you didn't bring us the food we ordered on time

We ordered a total of seven foods, including main dishes and beverage desserts, and the staff brought us the desserts before we even had a meal We ordered the main dish and side dishes first to eat dessert later and ordered dessert long afterwards But what is this...? I want you to do your job right. You don't even check what the customer ordered? We received only one of the first main dishes from them and no other main dishes were ordered together while we finished eating them

And the dessert came out, and I was so embarrassed. The staff didn't check the food we ordered again, so we asked the staff again, but the staff's expression was not good. Can we keep this dessert in the refrigerator ? I asked. I thought the staff should give the main dish first. Do you usually eat the main dish after eating dessert? And the food wasn't as good as I thought, especially why do you grill naan like that? …. I don't know if it's bothersome, but... Maybe you don't want to work. That is beyond my comprehension. The Mamak restaurant in the city is much better. I'm not coming here again

I understand why your restaurant has a bad rating. Cut that racial discrimination out. be in a bad mood One day, this store...
