It was my brothers 34th wedding anniversary and my birthday. My brother booked online and had forgotten to mention this, nobody asked the 3 of us if we were celebrating so we were not offered a celebration plate at the end of the meal as other guests who were there. When i mentioned it they said that because we did not tell them online we would missout. No-one offered it as a takeaway. The waitstaff were very confident & practised, but lacked heart. The chef did offer us a complimentary amuse-bouche of 2 tiny escargots on a teeny little dish. The place oozed a cosy ambience. My brother ordered Duck L'orange but could not taste the orange. I ordered boeufbourgignon and did not taste the red wine in the sauce, it tasted like a nice stew. I also ordered cheese souffle as an entree and could not taste any gruyere or Comte cheese. It tasted vaguely like smooth ricotta. When we ordered the tasting plate for dessert with 4 choices we shared - it was delicious but the portion sizes did not reflect the hefty price - $32 . My brother and his wife only ordered mains with one side of bread, pear salad ( excellent) & green beans. I had 3 courses...without drinks our bill came to $240. I ordered a glass of bordeaux and it cost $18...Unfortunately we did not really feel that our meal represented good value and will...

It was a fantastic experience. We stuck with the basics,

Duck Parfait to share as a starter (Incredible, very rich flavour, the toasted baguette and pickels are perfect compliment on the side)

Wagyu Steak Frites (In one sentence, easily the best French steak we ever tried, my wife is a big fan of French food and so am I, it was rich, flavourful & seasoned perfectly, the fries were amazing side, the waiter was kind enough to suggest us to not order another potato side that it might be a bit too much, thanks for that)

Drinks: Oragnina enough said (French cold drinks are the best lol)

We skipped dessert as we were too full (even three hours after the meal now) but will he back again to try.

There were complimentary escargot on the house too.

Service was amazing, both lovely waitstaff were pleasant and helpful.

Only small downside was that I was a bit surprised that they did not bring out anything for my wife's birthday (while they did for a table next to us) despite me putting that info out in the booking. But that could be because we did not really order any dessert and we dint really care as she was ecstatic with the food, customer service, wait time and everything else.

A fine French bistro, highly...

Greatly enjoyed the visit to this French bistro which signalled a return of one of my favourite restaurants in a new guise and new location.

We opted for the 3 course option and savoured every one of them.

To start, there was a complementary serve of escargot. The entrees were both excellent (the baked cheese souffle is a must try) and the mains were perfectly cooked (the Wagyu steak frites option is worth the extra $5). The desserts were a delicious exclaimation to end the meal. All of this was well accompanied with a glass of quality french red.

The service was friendly, cheerful and personal from start to finish. The food was also served at ideal intervals - clearly the chef's know what they're doing!

The 3 courses left us well satisfied.

I'm so glad one of my favourite french bistros is back and would strongly recommend them...
