SML Cafe Willoughby is hands down our family’s go-to spot.

Their bacon and egg roll is nothing short of legendary—perfectly balanced and always satisfying. And as a parent, I have to give a special shoutout to their babychinos. My kids have probably consumed more babychinos here than I can count, and every single one has come with a smile from their amazing staff.

The team at SML is what truly sets this place apart—friendly, efficient, and always making you feel like part of the community. Whether it’s a quick stop on a busy morning or a chance to sit and unwind with the family, they never miss a beat.

Don't believe the 1 star reviews. This is a 5 star establishment all the way. If you respect great consistent food and coffee, friendly banter and a local neighbourhood vibe, this is the cafe for you. The owners and staff work so hard to ensure a pleasant experience for every customer and the food and coffee is always consistent. SML serve the BEST decaf I've ever had (v important for an ex-barista/new mum). The coffee is always on point and I love that I can pick up takeaway conveniently on the HeyYou app. Favourites are the chicken katsu sandwich, banana bread and scrambled eggs which are always cooked to perfection. I have frequented SML since it opened a few years ago and all I can say is their coffee game is ALWAYS on point. ALWAYS. Which, imo, is the most valuable thing in this review. While the menu is quite small, they change it often. They have added 'dog parking' - a little tie up out front so you can safely leave doggo to pop in to purchase, then collect your meal from the take away counter. The team has always been welcoming when I swing by with our puppy. There is not much table space inside, with a few tables outside. These are usually full because the place is so good.
