This was the first time we ordered from here, as we were looking for a NYE platter, and this was one of the only sushi places close by to us that had over 4 stars. We ordered 1 platter of the large roll platter and found their menu online through their images on their FB Web page.

We called to place the order the day before, on the 30th, and were greeted by a friendly woman. When I expressed that I wanted a large roll platter for the $59 stipulated on their menu, I was told that this was incorrect and that it was $75. I was a bit shocked but still decided to go ahead with the purchase. The woman I spoke to sent me the new menu pictures via text, and I called her back to place the order.

My partner is allergic to prawn and so I asked that there be no prawn in the platter which they confirmed would not be a problem and to pick up the platter at 4:30 for a 5pm party start.

We arrived a bit early, and the platter wasn't ready, which is fine because that means it's going to be more fresh, which we appreciate. We pre paid and then walked around for 15-20 minutes until it was ready.

When I was given the platter, it was in their main dining room, which was dark, and I couldn't see the platter very well. Upon getting outside to our car I noticed that instead of giving us a bit larger of a selection of the fresh salmon, California, or chicken or beef to compensate for the no prawn request they basically just gave us an entire extra row of canned Tuna selection. For $75, I expect a better selection than this. I was quite frustrated because my partner does not eat canned cooked tuna either; I enjoy it, so I did not want to omit it from our order, but to give us 20 pieces of this out of 45 total, is ridiculous. I feel jipped. Although the sushi was fresh and good, I will never order from here again because their lack of moral and generosity left a bad taste in my mouth.

Also, update your price list online - it...

Honestly surprised I haven't reviewed before now. Been coming here for almost 3 years and have never once had anything bad. The food is a great price for what you get. Lane cove sushi is a weekly must have for me to the point where I have to tell the staff if I'm going on holidays so they don't worry about me. They always remember my regular order (I don't bother ordering anymore) and they are always welcoming and accommodating. Nothing better than a hug from Sue after a long trip away or as congratulations for whatever is happening in my life. The staff here is amazing and they treat you like family.

I always order the chicken katsu udon, but have sampled most of the menu since I am always here with friends and family. Is it the best Japanese food in sydney? Maybe not, but it's up there and hands down one of my favourite restaurants...

Came here for a casual lunch with my daughter. It was a weekday, and they had some specials. We selected the Spicy pork which had a choice of miso, 3 Salmon Nigri or some other whitefish. We also chose a teriyaki chicken Bento Box. The serving size was reasonable. Chilled tap water was available as was a selection of soft drinks. I do note they did have many choices of the Bundaberg carbonated bottles (ginger beer, lemonade, etc) which is a nice change from the ordinary soft drinks. The food was okay, the vegetable tempura was crispy and not soggy, which was nice. One surprise was that there is a $30 minimum for EFTPOS, and a $40 minimum for credit card. So if it's a quick lunch on your own or just 2 people, then make sure...

I had the Tiger Roll, Tempura Prawn Roll and Teriyaki Beef today, and both dishes really hit the spot. The prawn was fresh and flavorful—crispy shrimp tempura inside with a spicy kick and a drizzle of eel sauce on top that brought everything together. Great texture and balance. The Teriyaki Beef was tender, savory, and had just the right amount of sweetness from the sauce. It came with a side of veggies that added a nice crunch. Solid comfort food with a Japanese twist. Definitely a satisfying meal—I'd order both again.

Overpriced - expensive prices, above average food, small portions, average service. Looking at the ratings on Google and the inconsistent reviews, I was hoping for good, possibly an excellent meal. On arrival, the restaurant was a third full for a weekend dinner, which raised alarm bells, which I should have heeded. Food was very expensive - about 20-30% more than the average Japanese restaurant. For the prices paid, I expected something special. What I got was small portions and average food for above average prices.
