OK, I cannot expect to be first class food and cannot expect to be good value given the location with few competions. Put it this way, the quality of the Sushi: Variety- no scallops, and the fish variety are not many by many sushi train standard. Fresh- The seafood in general are not the top notch, if u ever buy salmon from wholesale, u know the stock has different grade. Good quality Salmon or prawns or fish come with a price tag. The fresh handroll taste is good but not great. There are not enough vegetables or avocado to make it looks like a decent. I will it a pass. The Sushi Plate, first the portion is so small, the fish is so thin, you need to eat at least 6 to 8 plates for a lady. There are salmon roll, looks really good before he used the heat gun to grill it, but after it is grilled, the salmon turn into brown color. What does that tell you? How good is the chef? Is he an apprentice or a real Sushi Chef? The presentation is poor- just take a look at the roll (with rice outside), the diameter is less than a 20c coin, and within a plate, you will see the roll diameter varied in size between 20c and 10 c and 5 cents. Food on the conveyor belt is old, we picked the loctus chips, it is soft and it seems like it has been there for a while, you can also taste the old oil they used on the chips. Tempura- the batter is like sweet and sour pork, the chef did not get rid of the string in the middle of the peas. If you charge this much, you have to provide a certain standard, I am not comparing with Azuma, but you need to meet a minimum standard. This is like what you expect from a food court. Sushi hub is even better than this. The Sushi takeaway near Lane Cove Woolies taste better than this place. It sounds a bit harsh but, I am writing this is to hope somehow they will improve in the future. The customer service is good. Sorry, the chef needs a bit...

I came here with my 1.5 year old boy and mother to have an early dinner around 5pm. The restaurant was quite full with families and other kids and we were seated in a 4 seated table by a waitress. I made some orders for dinner and asked the lady for some water while we waited for our food. My boy was making some baby sounds like blabing, he is quite vocal and playful . 5 minutes later a man who seemed like the owner came over and asked us to get our baby boy to be quiet because it’s bothering other guests. I looked around and it didn’t seem to bother anyone since most tables had children sitting there with their families or parents. 5 minutes later he came back and said look you have to go for a walk to keep your child to be quiet. I said I’m sorry I can not control my 1.5year old to keep quiet. He is still a baby/toddler and I asked if I’m bothering someone in the restaurant If I could speak to them politely to excuse me. The owner then said no it’s none in the restaurant he was actually bothered by my boys voice or sound. And seemed to want us to leave. So we did.

I live in lane cove and lanecove is a wonderful place for children babies and kids with restaurants that clearly are child friendly. They even had baby high chairs there. unfortunately this restaurant has a real issue with babies/kids because I witnessed that today. It’s such a disgrace and very unfortunate that this restaurant and owner is extremely RUDE and unfriendly and...

Very limited choices of sushi, they only have salmon, kingfish, tuna nigiri with raw fish, no squid no sweet shrimp or any sort of shellfish available. The sauces were badly paired with the rolls, the rice was hard and dry, the rolls on the sushi train were badly presented, most of the rolls on the plates looked like they were put together by a child, the salmon didn't taste too fresh, prices are high for the quality of the food. Even sushi stalls in food court tastes better and have more choices than this restaurant. Don't know why the rating is so high for this...

Just checked out the new Sushi Train in Lane Cove, and honestly, it was a pretty fun ride! The vibe was super chill, and the staff were all smiles. Sure, some of the sushi plates looked like they'd been on the train long enough to see a few laps, but hey, it still tasted pretty good. Honestly, a little extra spin time just adds to the flavor, right? Either way, I was happy to dig in. The spicy chicken rolls and salmon were definite highlights. I’ll definitely be back for another round—next time, I might even try to catch the freshest plate as it zooms by!

At noon on a weekend, it was already busy. If you arrive in a rush and want to grab something to go, thry have packed fried chicken and other dishes for $8 range. Inside you get to sit by the sushi train conveyor bar and watch the sushi go by. The plates are color coded ranging from $3.50 to $8.50 ish offering sushi rolls and sashimi, some side dishes as well as limited deserts such as mochi ice cream, etc. There maybe 45 limit on your seat the sign states. I do agree with another review. Ordered odon, and the portion was tiny for $10.

I had a great experience at this sushi restaurant! They offer a good variety of sushi, all of which tasted fresh and delicious. The staff were lovely—friendly, attentive, and made the visit even more enjoyable. I was also impressed with the quick service, perfect for a relaxed yet efficient dining experience. Don’t miss the desserts, especially the ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending. The cozy ambiance added to the overall comfort and made it a place I’d definitely return to. Highly recommended!
