I needed some hay-fever relief, and my bowl of classic Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup (Lanzhou lamian) far exceeded my expectations. The broth was rich, with just the right balance of savoury depth. The shaved beef melted in my mouth, while the tender daikon radishes, fresh herbs, and kick of chili oil added layers of complexity. The noodles were delightfully chewy, giving that perfect slurp-worthy texture.
Alongside, I enjoyed 8 prawn and chive dumplings that were pan-fried to perfection—crispy on the outside, juicy and bursting with flavour on the inside. The service was fast, efficient, and helpful, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is simple and clean, with a high turnover of happy customers—exactly as you'd expect for a place like this at lunchtime.

Service was perfunctory but efficient and we got a lovely warm farewell from the guys in the kitchen when we complimented the food. Looking around the room at other people’s orders, everything looked great, will be back to try...
