This place is absolutely 5/5! I travel around trying Thai restaurants everywhere and always order the same—Massaman Curry, Pad Thai, and Beef Salad—comparing them all. Leura Thai House is easily one of the best I’ve been to. • Massaman Curry: 4.75/5 The curry was incredible, with rich, bold flavors. It was on the stronger side, which I really enjoyed, though the potatoes were a bit hard. The lamb was very tender, but I felt it could have been just a touch more tender to be perfect. • Pad Thai: 4.9/5 Extremely good. The flavors were spot on, and the portion was just right. It wasn’t dry at all, which is sometimes an issue with Pad Thai at other places. • Beef Salad: 4.9/5 Fantastic! The meat had a pho-like quality, which I really liked. The balance of sweet and sour was perfect, making it a highlight of the meal. Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.9/5) The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff were incredible—genuine and attentive, ensuring we were happy with everything, which we were. The best Thai experience we’ve had in the Blue Mountains!

After two horrific experiences in our Katoomba vacation, my expectations were quite low. The rating on this place was only a 3 too, so I said let's go check out somewhere and have low expectations. At first glance the place looks amazing, the restaurant itself gives this cosy feel, we came for dinner and even had a 2 year old brat with us. Our waitress was awesome, she was so welcoming and was handling the whole front by herself and she did a great job. We ordered yellow curry with a mix of seafoods and some other chicken curry food. The rice had to be ordered separately, but came in this nice fancy pot. The food was spectacular, flavourful, I'm so surprised people have given this place negative reviews, my experience was the complete opposite. You guys are doing an awesome job. My next time in Katoomba, will definitely feature another night here. All up with alcohol it costed us like $60. What an amazing place. I wish we could sit outside next time.

I had high hopes for this place after reading the other reviews. In fact, even during the meal I tricked myself into thinking it was a great place, but the facts speak for themselves.

  1. I ordered the Massaman Lamb Shank, but was told they were not serving that meal this evening.
  2. So I ordered the Baramundi, which is a Thai House Special. The order was taken, however, the waitress came back reporting that the chef refused to cook this meal as it was too busy.
  3. I then ordered the standard Massaman Beef. When it arrived I took a bite only to find the meat was cold in the centre. And by cold, I mean stored-in-the-fridge cold.
  4. When presented this information, to their credit they made me a new one. Worthy to note however is the fact they said they made a new one because at this time it was not busy. Presumably if it was busy they were just going to heat it up.
  5. While eating this new meal which was very tasty and hot, I stumbled across a long black hair in my meal. By this stage I did not bother them as they were saying “sorry” to some other customer.
  6. My wife and I got up to pay, and while paying, the waitress was talking to another waitress ignoring us with the exception of saying “tap here”, without even telling us how much our meal was. I would have expected some sort of a discount or store credit given I had to eat my meal out of sync with my wife who had pretty much finished by the time I got my second heated meal.
  7. The music being played was out of an iPhone sitting on the bench.

Very disappointing. I hope everyone else has experiences like that of the other people...

I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! I placed an order last night through Menulog. Twenty minutes after ordering a received a call from the restaurant who told me they couldn't provide two of the items I ordered because I ordered from an old menu (they obviously hadn't updated Menulog). The way I was spoken to was really rude - they were trying to make me feel like it was my fault which I don't know how that could possibly be the case. I tried to organise for them to replace with another item (and organize a partial refund) because what I was replacing it with was cheaper than what I ordered. They refused to do because I ordered through Menulog so I asked to cancel the whole order which they said they couldn't do I would have to do through Menulog. I contacted Menulog and they couldn't cancel the order because the restaurant had told Menulog the order had been delivered. After an hour or arguing with Menulog I have been told that I will receive a refund in the next five days. I have ordered from this restaurant a LOT over the last couple of years and have never experienced anything like this from them. I was told last night that they are new owners which is why the menu is different and would explain why they are no really rude. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! There are lots of other Thai restaurants in the area with great food...

Welcome to Fawlty Towers! Walked in the door and was looked directly at by 2 people who ignored us. Somebody else appeared and told the girls there was a customer only to be told to hang on, to be fair doing your hair in the mirror has to be more important than customers. Told to pick our own table so we chose the front of the restaurant, to avoid the customers watching ufc loudly on their phone whilst eating dinner, the table we chose happened to be next to the staff members that had instructed “customer” earlier and was eating her dinner; she subsequently tutted audibly and moved table. Now to order drinks, a nice cold beer except 12 on the menu but only one in stock! To be fair to the young lady who served us she was pleasant and her service was pretty good. Then the food arrived! It was ok, it was what I make at home with a jar of paste from the local supermarket. Nothing special nothing wrong with it as such but for the prices you pay, it was seriously lacking. We paid $50 for two drinks, one small starter of money bags that were teeny and a green curry and rice. Whilst we were there a few people arrived and subsequently left, there was no music or atmosphere and the food was...
