Pretty shabby experience here yesterday it was a special occasion as we hadn’t seen each other in a long time, so we just ordered what wee wanted, we drank a good few bottles of reasonably priced rose, few cocktails which are ok, but the food… mate so disappointing. Firstly if you are going to put anchovies as at starter or entree, at least make them fresh or marinated, these were just 3 TINNED anchovies lying on top on 3 flat strips of TINNED red capsicum. At least serve some French butter and fresh bread (absolute rip off and a dish that lacked any sort of creativity) I mean luckily I like anchovies but the price was sickening. Also 16 bucks for one ball of arancini (who do they think they are??) also the prawns were 17 dollars for one piece and we ended up getting two and they were they driest most awful prawns ever, then they charge as a special a rib eye for $100.00 we asked for medium rare very clearly, it came out medium well. I sent that back for very obvious reasons, and they sent back HALF a sirloin, sliced up, which was half well done and half medium. This is so unacceptable for a bill just under a grand. The saving grace was the view, the chats with my mates and oh, I nearly forgot the Brocolini side dish it was quite nice.
If I had to say one thing is that the whole snapper was well cooked and had I ordered that to myself I probably would have been quite happy but we were sharing. The waiters seemed slightly scared of us and not confident.
I will never go back here again unless they get a new chef team OR for a negroni on the deck.
Sorry guys but Bondi has a very competitive restaurant industry and we traveled from the inner west for a gorgeous arvo! Thinks it’s to think about. Cheers.
Oh and by the way we ALL went home after and had takeaways when we got home!!! SMH!!! We should have...
Read moreWell, it suits me to have this place rated under 4 stars i guess. Maybe then it will be easier for me to walk in without a booking any night of the week. But in the interest of telling the truth and letting people know whats up, I'll leave an honest review. Honestly, Bondi is lucky to have this place. MENU: perfectly written for Bondi crowd and perfectly executed by skilled team. SERVICE: huge experience and carefully selected by industry veterans. WINE: no better offering in Bondi, and beyond that, the wine is properly good. VIBE: All these elements come together to provide the best dining experience on the Bondi strip and beyond. If you want to believe the weirdo petty reviews that's fine, but trust me- if you want authentic and creative yet traditional Italian food coupled with proper wine and proper bar service delivered by skilled hospo crew, you have found it. Excited to have...
Read moreAbsolutley Abysmal experience!
Paid for a set menu between a large group of people for them to bring out these ridiculously small servings of plain bread with a drizzle of oil and balsamic to smear it in, olives which were mostly pit, 10 or so almonds, salad with no dressing with cheese on top, we then waited for over 90mins for them to finally bring empty plates out then another 30 for the cutlery and finally the mains came a small sirloin ,some chicken and some tastless dry sauce linguine. While we waited they had no issue loading people up with expensive drinks as there was no other option other than waiting for their "ration" of food.
Mind you all this was expected to be shared between 4 people per serving of food.
Go here if you are happy to burn your money for a very below average experience and to leave dissastified and hungry.
Horrible business model,...
