M Deli Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

I have gone to this cafe for about 5 years and used to love it. Now the owner is long gone and has put untrained staff in the customer service role at the front counter. This combined with a really chaotic ordering system where you have to yell at the person who ducks away after hearing each aspect of the order to write it in two places and then on a POS system is stressful and results in wrong orders. With a smile it was just bearable but today this is all done with no smile!!! "just a disinterested "yeah? " I wonder if the cafe owner knows what happening? Some of the staff are really nice to its a shame. Please get your ordering system worked out. I would have written to the cafe owner by email but theres no email address or suggestions box so I had to report to google. Update. Now the grumpy guy who served me is eating lunch at the table next to me and another staff member is complaining to him about rosters.....

First visit here for takeaway food and coffee. Honestly service wasnt brilliant. Little things like my coffee order was called out but the barrista didnt make any effort to actually look for me or get coffee to me, only made worse by how inaccessible the barrista area was for customers after ordering. Older woman in the kitchen was a little patronising when calling out people's takeaway food orders if they didn't respond immediately, but again same issue with leaving it to the customer to awkwardly get their attention and then reach over to inaccessible area to get food. Attitude was offputting. It was obvious there were new, young inexperienced staff working who didn't get very good training and were just intimidated by older staff. I’ve been coming here for perhaps 20 years but it’s now under new ownership as of two years ago. This was my first visit since the new owners took over as I’m now living interstate. Food and coffee is great as it always has been. But unfortunately almost all the tables and seats have gone and the woman who was taking orders was the sourest person I’ve come across in the service industry in a long time.
