Went last night with 5 girlfriends for a birthday. Will say that the staff were great and attentive to us First noticed how loud the place was, felt like we had to scream across the table. The food was my biggest let down We paid $14 for literally 5 sticks of brocolli for a side dish The patas bravas were wedges from a packet? No way that was house made The lamb was plentiful but had no salt, the picked haberno onions ontop had NO flavour The chicken dish was over $40 and we got a wing quarter and a single drumstick? We got the fish of the day and we asked if it was Snapper and the staff checked for us and said yes, only for a barramundi to come out. Not an issue we still ate it and it was tasty but she checked and still told us the wrong fish? The churros were completely doused in chocolate sauce when they came out which we probably should of just had a ramekin on the side for dipping. Dont even know why they gave us a ramekin for dulce de leche when we couldnt taste it over the chocolate. Churros did not look house made. Overall- too expensive for what you get, you pay for eating in bondi, wouldnt go again.

The Good: Simply delicious! Visited for a birthday dinner on the recommendation of a friend and it was an absolute standout. The highlights were many — the guacamole with pomegranate and lentil papadum was fresh and full of texture, the kingfish ceviche was vibrant, and both the barramundi and chicken tacos were flavour-packed and perfectly cooked. The venue itself is chic and candlelit, with a warm Mexican-Caribbean vibe that adds to the whole experience. Cocktails were beautifully crafted, and the service was attentive and polished throughout. Room for Improvement: None on this visit — it all hit the mark. Would I Return? Without a doubt. Already planning the next visit. The Verdict: Carbon Mexican delivers on flavour, style, and service. A beautiful dining experience that’s equal parts relaxed and refined — a must for lovers of modern Mexican cuisine.

Average at best. Although Carbon offers an aesthetically beautiful atmosphere it did get quite loud and difficult to have a conversation with our family as more and more people arrived. The food was exceptionally disappointing! We went for taco Tuesday and honestly I ended up removing the taco and just ate the filling. Food was lukewarm and lacked the punchy authentic flavours that transport you to Mexico. We ordered a few different flavoured margaritas and when passing them around for everyone to taste, we struggled to tell the difference. Very disappointing and doubt we will be back. When we asked the waiter what his favourite taco is he couldn’t answer and said it’s probably one that is not on the menu on a Tuesdays. Be warned they go cheap on Tuesdays.

Was the worst restaurant experience by far, certain waitresses worked hard to please our bottomless brunch while another would constantly remind us when to leave and serve with minimal effort showing attitude, also telling us to leave when we were using the bathroom. Working in hospitality myself I know it can get busy and it’s hard but I don’t understand the rude attitude given to a group of girls who were working to clean up their own table leaving plates stacked up and only showing thankful gestures. This one older woman would give half the utensils required, leaving me to have to go get forks etc. The whole back room was empty leaving our group of 5 to be the only ones, I do not understand the lack of customer service from this one woman who predominantly served us. Rude comments were made towards our table as this woman thought we would go overtime when we indeed cleaned up after ourselves and were out ON THE DOT after informing them that we were aware of the time and knew to be out for them. I would not recommend this place as they are accepting of arrogant staff. Live your life in some joy or quit because you are ruining the representation of your restaurant . Also the same woman stated to stop serving our table alcohol 15 minutes before we finished. The other staff were so kind a generous and appreciating our teamwork of helping them to clean also giving me food to accomodate for my tonsil removal as I could not drink which I am beyond grateful for. It’s a birthday and to be treated like that with plenty of communication from our side and plain arrogance from that woman is horrid. It was not a joyful experience and this is strictly aimed at that one woman who continued to demolish their...

I don’t usually write reviews but this was the worst restaurant experience i’ve ever had in Sydney and i’ve lived here my whole life. To start with, when i entered the resturant i stood at the door and no one came to help me. Eventually after standing for a while like an idiot i had to go up to the waitress to tell her i had a booking. I was with a group of four and we ordered a range of dishes to share. Every dish was delivered cold or lukewarm at best. The waitress had an attitude and we were rushed the entire time. Our booking was for 8:30pm and google says they close at 11pm. At 9:00pm we were told they were doing the last round of drinks so we ordered more drinks, a jug of Sangria which was watered down and tasteless ($70). At 9:30pm, the second we were finished eating, the waitress brought us the bill. I asked if they were closing as i thought that was quite rude since we never asked for the bill. She said they were closing at 10pm and proceeded to pull out the card machine to which my friend responded quite baffled ‘oh, do we have to pay now?’ and she said yes. She then had the audacity to ask us to write a review. After we paid we continued sitting and the lights went out. I’m unsure if this was out of their control but we were sat in the dark with a tea light candle. It was so awkward we had to leave immediately. Overall the food was quite nice but nothing was special and everything was cold which is not what you want when you’re paying premium prices. The service was honestly horrendous and i won’t be recommending...

I usually come here and have a good experience! This last time I came for a solo dinner date and from my arrival I FELT very unwelcomed. I had a reservation for 1 but somehow it took two wait staff to seat me.

I politely asked to sit inside, which is reasonable request considering I made a booking, and I was responded with it’s quite busy (literally was only about 4 people in this area of the restaurant) and I couldn’t sit there. I explained I had a booking a third time and finally was allowed to sit down. I ordered my food pretty and recieved it pretty fast, which was great.

But ordered $38 dish that ended up being tough and almost tasteless. Before I could ever ask for a second drink I was served the bill less than 5 mins after finishing my meal.

I waited for staff to come back which they didn’t or even ask how the meal was.

Basically felt pretty uncomfortable and as if was being shooed out within 30 mins of sitting down , never coming back here because obviously they only care if you’re a couple or a group who is gonna spend up. Which is ironic as I spent $60+ for just myself and was willing to buy a few...
