Mascot Charcol Chickens is a small, unassuming, family run business.

I came on a weekday lunch. The shop was busy but service was very fast and efficient. As soon as I walked in, I was given a friendly greeting and adequate time to look at the menu before ordering. I ordered the quarter chicken and chips. I was asked which part of the chicken I would like, which I really appreciated. At most charcol chicken places I have been to, no options are given. I was also given a very friendly and sincere goodbye. Staff are not too busy to value their customers. Service here is great.

The food here is good. I ordered the quarter chicken pack for $11.50. The portion was so huge! It could easily have been shared between two people or had leftovers for another time. Prices are excellent.

The hot chips were cooked to order and were very satisfying. They were nice and crisp on the outside but fluffy on the inside. They were nicely seasoned with chicken salt. I enjoyed the chicken, too. It was meaty and succulent with a good flavour.

I will definitely be back to try more items...

Forget about ordering catering from here; it's such a waste of time. I was overcharged on the corporate card, so I couldn't reconcile it with the finance team as the charge didn't match the invoice amount. I visited the store twice to resolve this issue, and on the second visit, they still made me wait for nearly an hour to process the credit back to the corporate card. There were two days between my visits to address this. Why weren't they prepared before my second visit? Furthermore, from start to end, they showed no remorse for causing so much trouble and kept questioning me about whether I ordered extra. Seriously, I'm using a corporate card where everything needs to match exactly with the invoice, and they're questioning me as if I stole a couple of dollars? I've blacklisted this place for all future catering for my team. That's the least I can do to save my...

I sometimes pick up food and other times order via an online delivery partner. When picking up food, I always get what I order and it tastes amazing. When ordering online for delivery, they seem to get the order wrong more than they get it right.

Often they provide the wrong burger and a lot of the time the portions for chips are very skimpy. Recently I ordered a medium chip to serve 3 people and got a medium sized bag which was about a quarter full. I don't understand why they are so careless or stingy with their online customers.
