Mascot Fresh Kitchen — Restaurant in Sydney

Live locally, looking for a traditional Chinese restaurant/ take away which offered the usual BBQ pork and duck. I ordered the BBQ pork and rice. I have to say the quality of the BBQ was average at best, very dry and tasteless, to make matters worse when I went to pay they had a pamphlet on the counter offering 10% discount for the purchase of BBQ products, when I asked the owner about the discount promotion, he looked at me and said nothing!!!. To add salt to injury, I'm really starting to become annoyed with these food outlets charging a percentage for paying by Visa Debit Credit Card. If they unhappy about receiving CASH, firstly WHY? and why should I be disadvantaged because they would prefer CASH, I think that speaks for itself. When you purchase any goods or services no matter how much or how little from large retail or franchise food outlets they do not charge you a surcharge for paying by Credit Visa Debit card. Obviously, the the economy is very robust and businesses can afford to charge customers for credit purchases, but dont complain when sales are down and business turnover has reduced...

19/03/2022 review: Have ordered several more times from Mascot Fresh Kitchen since discovering them back in 2020. Normally the dishes I've ordered have been quite good. However, today I ordered from them a dish I haven't tried before, the Roast Pork with Rice, and I'm very disappointed in the small portion of Roast Pork given. The dish was $18.80 so costed more than most of the other meat mains without rice. However, the container only had 1 layer of pork which amounted to 1/3 of the container. 2/3 of the container was just rice and a bit of veggies. I regret ordering this dish, wouldn't order it again and would not recommend it for that price.

19/04/2020 review: Ordered takeaway for dinner. Food was decent except the Special Fried Rice - the fried rice was too hard/old. They have a BBQ meat display section right at the front window. I'm interested in trying some of their BBQ meat next time as there isn't many Chinese BBQ places in Mascot. Also noticed they have a lunch special menu. Hopefully I'll be able to update with a better...

Very disappointing dining experience. The service was poor—staff were unfriendly and inattentive. I waited over 30 minutes for my food, while my friend had already finished their BBQ rice. I had to remind the staff multiple times before my stir-fried beef ho fun finally arrived.

When it did, it was greasy and unpleasant to eat. The taste was far below expectations. What’s worse, the kitchen looked unhygienic, with black, greasy stains clearly visible—very off-putting.

Overall, the food quality, cleanliness, and customer service were all unacceptable. I definitely won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this...
