Firstly, the slim lady without glasses at Eastwood store is actually very rude. She mixed up my order Malatang and my mum’s Malaban so, I went up to the counter and told her it’s supposed to be the opposite. She took both the dishes without even apologising, rinsed it with hot water so she could get the seasoning off (actually poured it back to where everyone else’s ingredients get cooked - like wth?) then served us back as if it wasn’t a problem at all with new soup/seasoning. First of all, I am truly shocked that she works at a kitchen where she thinks it’s fine to pour back the food with “seasonings” to where everyone else has their ingredients boiled, not even realising that it’s totally unhygienic.
Secondly, working in Australia with that kind of attitude and service? Maybe this might not even be the place for you. Honestly, think again before there’s another victim like me. I asked her that I wanted to talk to the manager - she firstly said there’s no manager and she doesn’t know who it is. Then I kept asking her for the number, she bluntly pointed her finger to the wall where it has the mobile number. When I asked what her name was so that I could reference her to the manager, she ridiculously smiled and walked off!
If she has apologised and gave me the choice to either give me a refund, or to pick the ingredients from the start, I would have happily done that. Not a problem at all. However, after receiving the supposed-to-be a “new dish” - vegetables been soggy after it’s been dipped in boiled water twice, and also with that kind of attitude, not coming back again. Feel sorry for the manager who has to trust these employees while he’s...
Read moreI don’t eat out so often now as I am on a medication which dramatically reduce my appetite. As a result I greatly appreciate every eating out experience as for me now eating out is not only about killing hunger, it’s also about enjoying good food with food friends, so I can put in some yummy healthy calories into my body and some good convos with friends into my memory.
I visited this hot pot place last night with my friend Ellen, and I ordered a tomato soup base with the foods shown in the posted photo. I added a lot spice, and I loved every sip. The foods were very fresh, and looked clean.
I would not give a five star as I do feel their dinning space is a bit crowded, and we had ours sitting outside by the street. They do have AC so that is a plus for me.
Also another thing I would mention is there is no minimum amount to purchase, which for me is a huge plus as I do not eat much, most of the contents in the bowl was just soup. I do know some other seemingly fancier hot pot places do require you to purchase over a certain amount.
Overall, I would say this is a great place, the only thing could be better is the dinning...
Read moreLady working with long brown hair placed a wrong order. She gave me malatang when I explicitly ordered over $70 worth of fried pot. I didn't even utter the letter m. Then she had the audacity to demand that I pay for the malatang (purely her mistake) and that I buy an extra fried pot. I tried to reason with her and say that I was gladly willing to wait extra for the new dried pot and pay for that. She refused and demanded that I pay for something that I did not order at all. In the end I asked for a refund because there was clearly no use trying to talk to her. She never apologised for her mistake and probably wanted me to cover the costs for her mistakes. Horrible human being and I cannot imagine owners would tolerate this behaviour. I agree with the other reviews. The employees and their problematic service makes you lose your appetite. Especially considering the food is...
