RUDE, DISCRIMINATING AND VIOLENT FRONT STAFF!!!
There were a huge variety of amazing dishes and most waiters/waitresses were friendly and reasonable except for the waitress/door girl who was rude, discriminating and loud.
We were a group of 5 adults and 2 kids (group of 7) and she put us on a round 4 ppl table which is backed up on the wall when a table for 6 was available (the 7th person can sit at the end of a long table). I told the another waiter and waitress that the round table is not big enough and they both acknowledged the issue. I proceed with saying that the small table is not big enough and she said that the other group have made a booking and their lobsters were coming. I asked if the door girl was discriminating because we have kids, why is she not counting my kids in the head count. When the other waiter spoke to the door girl, she said she has another group of 8 that was queued after us needs that table. I had also asked why does the lobster make a difference and did she think because we didn’t order a more expensive dish, we don’t deserve the same service. Then she proceed to say that they made a booking when my MIL told them that she saw them putting their names down on the waiting list and caught her lying. After we sat down, she had to give us our order receipt at the table (I went to the toilet and was walking back), so I stood there to wait for her to move out of my way then she proceed to walk right into me and pushed me and hurt me.
Very bad service from the door girl which was rude, discriminating and violent. She doesn’t deserve a job and is bad...
Read moreFirst of all, I would like to say that I would have given 1 star, but I gave 2 because the food was actually enjoyable. The service, however, was not. The moment when we got the order form, the price were not included, and the server suggested us a dishes with noodles, some more ingredients, and one of lobster/oyster/etc. and advised us to choose lobster.
She then wrote the price on it, which we saw as 18.9. We thought the price was cheap, and reconfirm it again and she nod (probably her English listening skill was not that good). Overall, we enjoy the food, as the portion was big, and the lobster was tasty, until we came to pay and realize we got charged 78.9 for that. So of course we paid, and I believe the price was not that crazily expensive because we were given a whole big lobster and the taste satisfied us. However, we felt like we got cheated. Why?
Because we would not have chosen the dishes knowing the price would be that high for us (reasonable but not affordable for everybody). And we did not ask the server to actually suggest the dish, so the fact that she did it on her own will made us feel that she try to trick us to choose it on purpose. Maybe I was wrong, but that was how I feel, and I did not feel it for no reason. So if you guys want to visit the place, my suggestion is, do not make the same mistake as us and check the price in the menu again before ordering anything (we failed to check it again, partly our fault). I personally will never visit this place again and will not advise...
Read moreIncredible food. I had the black pepper wasabi pork, the squid ink noodles, the soup dumplings, the dry squid, prawn and mushroom pork ribs.
The pepper wasabi pork was easily my favourite and came out first, I wish I had taken my time with it as I was so hungry it disappeared. The spice of the pepper was almost tingly with the heat of wasabi. Very yum. The pork was on the bone and had good texture too.
The pork ribs were pretty incredible. The fat was as insubstantial as cotton candy and the meat was so soft. It surprisingly had very subtle flavour, I had to eat slowly and mindfully to really enjoy the spices, but the pork flavour was very strong and delicious.
The dumplings were likely my second favourite. Unfortunately some of them leaked their delicious soup before we got them off the paper, but I think that was more due to picking them up badly. The dumpling skin was silky smooth and aldente, the rich stock was hot but didn't burn your mouth even if you ate right away, the filling was refreshing in flavour and went so well with the rich stock.
Squid noodles omg squid noodles. I loved the flavour, I don't even like seafood very much but I think squid ink was destined to be made into these noodles. Not my favourite simply because I prefer pork. Also the callamari was quite chewy, which I don't like.
I can't even describe what the flavour is because it's so unique. The ultimate in salty savoury maybe.
My only regret is not trying...
