McDonald's Mount Druitt — Restaurant in Sydney

I asked my daughter to go down and get me a Soft Serve in a cone and a chicken burger. When she returned, she told me the "Manager on Duty" (wearing a grey polo) had spoken to her in a rude and dismissive way.

Here’s what happened: my daughter was waiting for her food. When she received it, she said thank you. The manager told her they were out of no-sugar frozen Coke and asked if she wanted a normal frozen one. My daughter didn’t fully understand and assumed she was getting a no-sugar Coke (not frozen) instead. Realising the mistake, she politely acknowledged the misunderstanding and said, "Sorry, I wasn’t listening properly. Could I get a normal no-sugar Coke instead? Like not frozen?"

Rather than respond with basic professionalism, the manager looked her in the eye, sighed loudly, and sarcastically said, "Okay... so you weren’t listening? That’s not really fair, is it?" She continued to sigh and show visible frustration. My daughter was polite and took responsibility, and yet the manager acted like it was a major inconvenience.

I then went into the store with my daughter to address the issue directly as I was not willing to tolerate that behaviour especially if my daughter was being polite and being met with rudeness. The manager's tone with me was immediately aggressive and defensive. It’s not what you'd expect from someone in a leadership role. We let her explain her side, but when it was my daughter’s turn to speak, she turned her back and walked off, saying she had “orders to do” and didn’t have time.

Her behaviour was unprofessional, emotionally reactive, and dismissive. It was shocking to see this kind of attitude from someone in charge. Totally...

Drive Thru? Don't even bother! Expect to wait for more than 10 minutes. One time I ordered one hash brown, I was the only person in drive thru and was told to wait at the waiting bay. Ridiculous given the single order but I did, and then they had me wait 15 mins and NO ONE came out. Frustrated I went in and gave them an ear full, the waiting bay and my car is literally in front of the entrance door and all counter staff can see a car that is parked there... Waiting... But no. No one bothered to figure out the obvious. Staff employed to chit chat but not taught to take initiative or forward think. Now other instances to make matters worse they have a whole bunch of cars wait in the car park only for staff to come out not knowing who ordered what. So you'll have staff walking around aimlessly trying to figure which order belongs to the right car. Surely there is a better more streamlined way of ensuring efficiency??? Like noting down the make or rego of car attached to the order? That's not too hard is it? That way waiting times slashed and you save yourself the hassle of walking around like headless chook! You'd think the over priced food would go to adequate training and better processes but no obviously not, mcdonalds may have become "fancier" and "modern" than ever before but no matter how much lipstick you put on a pig it's still a pig. You make hungry...

On Sat morning 8/10/22 went to the shop to place a big order for very special catering to pick up Sun 12.30pm in the 9/10/22. The manager told me i can't pay on the day as their policy changed you can only pay on the day of the pick up but she told me not to worry my order will definitely ready by 12.30pm pick up and pay at the same time Got there 12.30pm Grace the manager on duty said she heard about the order but it wasn't put through at all. The piece of paper shes got had full details of my order even my phone number one of them corps have called me to check or even called one of their manager was on duty sat to check about my order but none of that happened and she said they making it no apology nothing its like she didnt even care. Of course they can make it but the problem is all my visitors came to the party didnt wait for almost 2hrs for mcdonalds to make my order. You have no idea how embarrassing for me kept telling all these people sorry foods are coming and they didn't come to past 2pm and half of my people left the party. I will never order from this MacDonald again.
