Can’t use my passport for an entry here for some reason. The lady was even okay with us bringing a utility bill as a proof rather than international travel passport, a documents accepted by everywhere in the globe. She even mentioned that every other club won’t accept my passport. So odd, so odd. Even star city going under business takes passports.

UPDATE: apparently the management of the place decided to insist that I should be obtaining my address on the premises of entry according to Registered club act 1976. However, that doesn’t seem to be the right case for me. Here’s the newly updated photo with information for your reference of convenience. I completed my RCG and RSA couple of months ago, so when I visited the rsl next door on the exact same day. I told them about my adventure here, and they found it pretty befuddled just like I did. 😂

And for the convenience of club management who tried to solve this matter without even attempting to contact me at all. I don’t really see the effort or the dedication to solve this problem in a way that’s civil or respectfully. Whether you’re in the right or not, I’m will not try to get into the club on this kind of premises anymore, so you can rest assured. I’m just leaving this review here to make sure to notify any non-Australian who decides to visit, you need to visit service nsw for a photo card, or just bring utility bills for your convenience, even though it doesn’t sound...

Subject: Urgent Appeal: Reinstate Staff Tips at Club Merrylands Dear Club Management, I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent decision to halt staff tips at Club Merrylands. This decision has been disheartening for both the dedicated staff members who work tirelessly to provide exceptional service and for the patrons who appreciate their hard work. The policy to cease staff tips not only undermines the efforts and dedication of the staff but also detracts from the overall experience for patrons. Tipping is not only a gesture of appreciation but also serves as a vital source of income for many employees who rely on it to supplement their wages. As a loyal patron of Club Merrylands, I urge the management to reconsider this policy and reinstate tipping. Doing so will not only ensure that the staff members are adequately rewarded for their hard work but also contribute to maintaining the vibrant atmosphere that Club Merrylands is renowned for. I believe that by reinstating tipping, Club Merrylands can continue to thrive as a welcoming and enjoyable destination for both guests and staff alike. Thank you for considering my appeal. I look forward to a positive resolution to...

Deep Concern About Racially Biased Treatment

I’m writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the racially biased treatment I experienced at your establishment by the night security guards (20/05/2025). As a paying customer, I expected to be treated with the same respect and fairness as anyone else. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

From the moment I arrived, it was evident that I was being treated differently based on my appearance. While others were allowed entry or served without issue, I was subjected to unnecessary questioning, delays, and dismissive behavior—despite complying with all rules and presenting appropriate identification.

Discrimination has no place in any business, especially in a social venue that claims to welcome all. Your staff’s behavior was not only unprofessional, but it reinforced harmful and outdated prejudices that have no place in today’s society. The security guard is a male with glasses on.

I urge you to reflect on the culture and policies within your club. Staff should be trained to treat every guest with dignity and equality, regardless of race, background, or appearance. I believe everyone should be treated...

The renovations have been completed near the front entrance and the place looks great! There's plenty of parking now too. The buffet upstairs is excellent. They have Aussie- Chinese favourites like honey chicken, sweet and sour pork, spring rolls etc. They have a great bbq section with all kinds of meats like duck, pork, beef and chicken. The salad bar looks super fresh and the seafood is lovely. The dessert bar is stocked with cakes, ice-cream, pudding and mousse. I loved the chocolate cake. The soft serve machine wasn't working properly when we were there though, and the ice-cream was a bit too icy. For members, the full buffet is $26 - great deal. It's not including your drinks though.

Cheap all you can eat buffet for $33, however you need to pay $10 membership if you live in the area. Soft drink bar is not included and you need to pay for drinks. One glass is $3.50 for Pepsi. Some of the food taste stale, the pineapple is canned and the garlic bread does not use fresh garlic. There is good variety with the food, hot food, veges and desserts but the quality is standard. Staff seemed nice. Overall I would recommend if you want to eat a lot of food but don't mind canned goods and paying for drinks.
