I hadn’t been to Mounties for about 10 years. I went back for lunch and to see if it had changed. I applied to be a member online and the receptionist at the front lobby politely referred me to the downstairs lobby to get my photo taken. The gentleman there was also very courteous and gave me directions to find the Vietnamese restaurant (new to me). I ordered there and waited about 25 minutes before I was served. That waiting time is fine with me as it indicates it is more likely to be freshly cooked. Anyway the Vietnamese meal was very good, freshly cooked, very hot and very nice. After that I ventured upstairs to see how things have changed up there. No-one up there, nothing happening. I walked up to the Brasserie and stopped at the CLOSED sign, just looking inside to see how it had changed. There were no patrons in there and I could only see empty food display counters and only one staff member. Suddenly a woman came running out abruptly saying: “We are closed”. Well I could see that, I was just looking and guess what, I can read. But this Brasserie must be great, when staff come out turning patrons away when it is obviously closed. Following the above review I noted Sunday Roast in the Brasserie menu, so I decided to have Sunday lunch at M Brasserie on Sunday 29th June believing it must be freshly carved as it is only available on one day - Sunday. Not many diners there at 1.30pm, not a good sign. Anyhow, I could not find Sunday Roast on the menu so I went over and asked the cashier if it was still available. She assured me it was, so I ordered the Sunday Roast with gravy on the side, about $22. When the meal arrived the meat did not look good. It was thin and flat, no grain and one colour - dark brown. It looked like the packaged roast beef you buy in supermarkets. So I tried some. No taste. I was absolutely convinced it was nothing more than pre-packaged meat. I called the waiter and politely told her it was packaged processed meat, not freshly carved as you expect. She made no comment on my claim, but asked if I would like something else. I opted for the Nasi Goreng which was fairly good, but I was still disappointed. Tonight I note, Sunday Roast is no longer in the menu. A smart move. If you can't do a roast meal as expected, don't do it. After the Nasi Goreng, I went down stairs to check the other restaurants - two Asian restaurants packed to capacity, one with a queue. The regular patrons know where the...
Read moreIt’s been many years since I’ve been to Mounties and I took my family there for lunch to show them how good this club is. For as long as I can remember this club was one of the largest busiest clubs in the west if not Sydney!! But to my surprise it looks like not a dime has been spent on the club for years and the clue was empty. We ate at the braserie restaurant and the food was subpar. I would rate the food a 4/10. And that wasn’t only my opinion, but none of the family finished their meal because it was poor quality. The veggies where soggy the chips where soaked in our and my soup had 4 slices of chicken in it!! I really expected more from the food and I also expected staff in the restaurant to speak English. But that wasn’t the only issue, the club was dirty and run down, which has a lot to do with poor management I’d imagine. If she took a moment to walk around the clud and actually look rather then just walk they will notice all the air conditioning vents are covered in dust, the should also notice the toilets are clean but smell. There are stains on the walls and generally run down. This clud used to be the prize of all clubs but now it’s a poor example of how a club should be run or how a quality should be cleaned. The other staff apart from the non English speaking restaurant staff where pleasant (lady at front desk and security) apart from that this club is not worth visiting. We went in there to vlog our experience at the club to our 1/2 million followers and unfortunately there is no way to make this club look good so we had to be honest and show exactly what we saw. The directors there need to move the management out and start again, and replace the manager with someone who cares rather than one who hides in the office does not see the mess the clubs in. I was embarrassed for even...
Read moreI have never left a bad review as I believe every business can be heavily impacted, however, this needs to be said as we were absolutely appalled at the service and the food.
Mounties was a place my family and I frequented many years ago, however we stopped going as we moved out of the area. Our excitement was extremely short lived as the bistro and the service has gone down hill. The food was horrendous, the service was garbage and looks like a cheap canteen you'd expect at long bay jail. There’s absolutely no love in the food as everything we ordered was absolutely rubbish. Not only that, our little one wanted to eat her meal later so we asked for a plastic container which we got charged 50c. We have been to many clubs and restaurants and NEVER have we been charged for containers. Who does that?!
It’s evident this place has been taken over by greed and a lack of care and love in everything the do. An absolute waste of time money.
Now the club… after taking a couple of bites at the bistro before walking away all feeling sick. We decided to gamble… and the service down there is even worse. You buzz for assistance for drinks and you wait for over 20 mins, it’s an absolute joke.
Not sure who is running or managing this dive but whoever you are, pull your head out and transform this place into what it deserves to be. Beautiful on the outside, beautiful on the inside but an absolute sh1t hole.
The pokies, have also been programmed to take your money and give you a big fat zero. If you’re in the area, we suggest you check our Cabravale Club. It’s lively, great atmosphere, great food, free snacks and no greed.
Very disappointing to see another venue run by deaf, blind or perhaps headless staff members. Will never ever return and...
