Arrived last night just after 8pm. Ordered 5 dishes. Restaurant dine in was full at the time and a family next to us had said they were waiting so long for their meals.

Took the chance and ordered at 8.30pm. 8.55pm and no food was served yet along with other customers who arrived before us that also had not received their meals.

It appeared as though the take-away orders seemed to be served faster than those dining in. Asked the staff if we would be served faster if we ordered take-away as overall it had been about 30 minutes and no food had been served to anyone in the restaurant while those ordering were leaving before us.

They said they would push my order forward. This was not the point of the complaint. The point is to either prioritise those dining in, warn customers before they sit down that there would be a wait on food and give an approximate time or limit the amount of customers dining in to accommodate the provision of meals within a reasonable time.

Received our 4th meal around 9.30pm. After asking us if we had any more dishes and stating we were just waiting on the papaya salad, they forgot our 5th dish and at 10pm after waiting almost 1.5hours overall to be served, we told them to cancel and left quite upset.

Soft shell crab was overcooked and children did not want to eat it. Massamun curry was grainy.

Disappointing after a great day out with the family.

I really hope this was just an off...

This WAS our favourite Thai place in the local area for almost 10 years - until tonight. Nakhon Thai has lost us as customers. We ordered a Pad Thai, Hokkien Noodles & Satay Chicken skewers. We were surprised when the bill came to $54 as this didn’t match the prices advertised in the menu and we usually pay around $40 for these 3 dishes. When we asked why we were being charged extra on a Wednesday night, the worker pointed out that on the front of their menu it now says ‘prices subject to change’ and that was why the price she charged was different to what was outlined in the menu. We found it extremely shocking and surprising that they charged us whatever they wanted without explaining their new prices which were NOT UPDATED IN THEIR MENU prior to us ordering. So unprofessional. They could have said the bill came to $100 and we would have had to pay just because it says ‘prices subject to change’ on the front of their menu....

Rather sad. Putting a clueless person unfamiliar with the menu in charge of the phone was just the start. I arrived well after my 'ready' time, for a single stir fried dish, and was told it would be another 5 to 10 mins. This is on a very quiet night with nobody around. I phone ordered a Thai Chilli Basil stir fry, which was met with some confusion - having to confer several times with the cooks. The dish I took home had no Basil or Chilli whatsoever .. it was just a stew of noodles, vegetables and pre cooked dried out chicken pieces. I relayed this back to the restaurant who were neither apologetic/offered a replacement or refund or accepted any liability whatsoever. This restaurant used to be good. In years gone by, I've eaten there & picked up many satisfying take away dishes. At the moment, its an unfortunate incarnation of what it used...

2.5 stars. Pricey as a basic chicken pad thai costs $20 ($18 for the actual dish but $2 surcharge) and $21.90 for pineapple fried rice (fried rice served in a carved out pineapple) A pad thai is a simple dish that should cost no more than $15 MAX; any establishment that charges higher is not honest. Moreover, the timing, I waited upwards of 30mins for 3 basic stir fried dishes. The restaurant was only at 50% capacity. However, the portions were decent and tasty. The restaurants decor is also nice and clean. But it's extremely obvious that this restaurant caters to the mainstream. Don't expect to find traditionally authentic Thai dishes such as papaya salad, grilled fish, durian sticky rice or durian smoothie. But, flavour wise, it's far from being the worst tasting Thai i've had.

Recently visited this place and let me tell you, the food was seriously lacking in flavor. I've been to plenty of Thai places before, but I never thought I'd come across flavorless peanut sauce. But guess what? It actually exists, and it was so bland! We even asked for table salt, and they double-checked with us twice, but they ended up giving us chicken salt instead (in the pic). And to top it off, their service was super slow. We had 3 people receive their food before us. It really put a damper on the whole experience. Their fried rice was nice, their massaman curry was ok. Their naan bread was nice and fresh. Their scallops were VERY fishy, they kept scallop roe on however it did not taste very pleasant. Overall, not the best dining experience, to say the least.

I went to Nakhon after a very long time, after approximately 12 years. The food back then was good so I decided to try it again. I ordered Thai veg fried rice and bbq chicken with Singapore noodles. I was very disappointed that standard has really dropped. I asked for medium spicy there was no spice at all. Pros: Good service. Good amount of vegetables in the veg fried rice. Cons Food was bland. I had to ask for salt and chilli. The restaurant is very tired old and worn out. There is a smell in the restaurant, the restaurant needs good cleaning. I don’t recommend this place at all.
