First off, the staff here are so lovely, very accommodating and friendly. And it's a pretty little cafe with plenty of seating. I came here with my mum. She ordered a grilled cheese and ham sandwich and a mango smoothie, I ordered a roast pumpkin and walnut salad with tropical juice. The smoothie and the juice were great, and Mum said the grilled cheese was also really nice, commenting that the bread was very good. However, where they fell short was the salad. I love a good roast pumpkin salad. However, it is always disappointing when pumpkin is more boiled and less roasted. It's a completely different flavour with none of the caramelised flavour that comes from nicely roasted pumpkin. The other unsatisfactory ingredient was the feta, in fact I'm not sure it was feta and seemed more like cottage cheese. If it was indeed feta it was a very sad feta with no flavour at all. Feta brings a lovely sharp bite to a salad which this salad sadly lacked. The greens were however fresh and the dressing quite nice and they didn't skimp on the walnuts. If the pumpkin had been properly roasted and the feta more flavourful, it would have been a lovely salad. However, because of these deficits, it wasn't really pleasant to eat. I do hope they read this review and reassess this particular menu item to try and elevate it to what...
Read moreI only gave 1 star because I can't give zero. My coffee shop wasn't open today so I was desperate for coffee and I went here, I live across from this shop so I went in. I did not get a "good morning or merry Christmas " from the guy who took my order, didn't ask if I wanted sugar in my coffee or anything else, he was too busy chatting to the other workers. He just pushed the EFT towards me to pay. He never bothered to tell me where to pick up my coffee, just gave my reciept and I walked to a side. I tried to put my own sugar in when I burnt my hand with the coffee, they never bothered checking up or even made an eye contact with me. I stood there with boilimg hot coffee on my hand. I got myself some tissues and asked for cup holder 3 times. The barista and the guy taking orders were too busy greeting the customer after me.They only greet the customers they know. Felt like I wasn't there at all. The coffee tastes horrible as if she did a quick job to get me out of there. I won't be going back...
Read moreRecommended by my airbnb host - obviously it was busy with constant foot traffic when i walked there. Decided to try out, the lady (dark shoulder length hair, wearing glasses & a vest) was semi cold and talked a bit bluntly - wasnt sure what made her tick the box of this very important role for a cafe like this as she was the first point of contact for arriving customers. She seemed like that to other customers too. Food was good (burrito brekky), coffee good too (apart from being quite slow), it would be really nice if either she were a little bit generous with her smile with a hello or someone else took over her order taker job. If a service isnt welcoming, even if the food is good, I wouldnt want to revisit as Im spending my money for a lovely experience not giving my hardearned money at an unwelcoming business. Ps: today I went to Espressorico on the same street, it was such a friendly happy vibe which made me feel like visiting a friend's home, on top of that food was amazing -...
