Abode Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Sydney

Service was very disappointing. Food was good no doubt. But after having the food me, my wife and my 2 years little one we all had food poisoning. We all were sick for 3 days. The situation was really bad as we don't have any relatives living in Sydney there was no one to take care of my little one cause me and my wife were really sick. It was the horrible time I have ever spent in my life.

I called the restaurant and looked for the manager. the staff said he is only available on Friday. I requested her to pass my phone number so that whenever the manager is available he can contact me. But the staff did not pass that message. After waited one week I called them back again and found the manager. He was even more rude to me. He did not feel sorry. He did not even care, he suggested me to go to the fair trading, tribunal or nsw health department. As he has everything ready to hide whatever the dodgy things they are doing inside the kitchen.

After seeing his arrogance, I asked for refund. He just said "No way" and hanged up the call on my face. He did not even offer me like a free food or any discount on my next visit. So like there is no respect for the customers. He does not care the customers are going back or not.

I will try my best to do whatever I could. Because I do not want anyone else get sick after having these foods.

But seeking attention to the owner that your restaurant is in a very good location, and food is nice too. But you need a better manager and you need your staff maintaining the hygiene, specially washing their hands always. You might a so many customers lined up outside but it doesn't mean you are going to give zero respect to the customers cause don't forget you business runs because we customers go there and spend our money. So the service should full fill our expectations as well. Whatever you manager did was completely ridiculous.

Abode Thai Cuisine in Brighton-Le-Sands is a solid choice for Thai food with generous portions and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ve dined here a few times, and while it’s a spot I enjoy, there are a few areas where it could elevate to five-star status.

The highlight of my visits is hands down the spicy beef laksa. It’s rich, full-bodied, and delivers a great kick of heat—definitely the dish I keep coming back for. I’ve also tried the regular laksa with tofu, which comes in a massive portion. While it’s good, the broth could use a bit more depth to make it truly stand out.

Their noodle dishes are satisfying with decent portion sizes, but like the tofu laksa, the flavors don’t quite hit the mark for greatness. A bit more intensity or boldness in the seasoning would take them to the next level. Appreciate how most of the dishes offer a vegetarian friendly protein option (tofu and vegetables), for a lot of their noodle stir-fry dishes and curries.

The restaurant is often bustling, especially on Saturday nights, so if you want to avoid the crowd a late afternoon visit is your best bet—plenty of seating and a more relaxed vibe. Service is good, though it doesn’t particularly stand out, which is fine given the casual setting.

My wife and I have been coming to Abode Thai Cuisine for a few years. And they have never let us down. Their food is always delicious and tasty. We have had the lamb cutlets with the Penang sauce, which is a high light on our list. We just had the Wagyu Beef in the sizling cast iron plate, that was so tender and tasty. The fried rice dishes are awesome, prawns are always big and fresh, perfectly cooked. Their Pad Thai are on point. They don't have desserts, but just head on over to Bay Vista to get your sugar fix later ... The chefs here are top notch at Abode, you can't go wrong with anything you order off the menu. Plus they are quite quick when it's not busy. The waitresses are so friendly and caring. They check to see if you are enjoying the food, but never intruding. They have a lovely drinks menu too.
