After being welcomed in and asked if we wanted to sit in smoking or non smoking things were looking good and we were shown to the non smoking area. After about ten minutes we gave our order and received some cutlery and hand wipes so at this point loving life.
After about 25 minutes of watching people come in after us and get served table waters and drinks before us I decided to play the role of the waitress get the water and glasses for the table.
About ten minutes from my waitress stint one of the drinks from the 4 we ordered arrived ,luckily for me it was my $5.50 can of coke zero, sadly for the rest of the table they wasn't as ecstatic as me.
To our surprise two of the mains followed which considering we hadn't received our entrees or drinks was definitely an abstract take on restaurant chronology. Now 45 minutes in when we pointed out we hadn't received our drinks or entrees but were sat with our mains the waitress shrugged and said maybe they are making it for you. So at this stage not loving life anymore.
Now having finished our mains and moved onto our entrees we were delighted to finally have a cocktail to sip, not how I personally like it but when in rome. By this time the 4 staff who's job it is walk around in circles but resist from engaging with customers had dramatically increased from 2 tables to about 6. This clearly showed when the staff forgot which section was the smoking and non smoking sections. When I asked if we were in the non smoking area I was told yes you can't smoke here . When I pointed out 3 tables smoking shisha and a man smoking a huge cigar he whispered to another staff member ,got scared and they both ran away which made our minds up and that it's time to go.
As we went up to pay without asking for the bill because some of us had work the next day and were worried we might have to camp out overnight if we did were greeted by the chef and waitress talking. After they finished their conversation the waitress didn't remember our table and we had to remind her the number which is a first for me.
All in all food not bad but pretty expensive and let's hope nobody else opens a similar restaurant in Hurtsville because you could litteraly train a group of stray cats to be better at hospitality. When the refreshment hand wipes work harder than the staff you have a problem in...
Read moreAfter finally getting my second vax I was dying to get out and catch up with one of my girlfriends, we made a booking yesterday as we’d been multiple times before and loved it. We sat down and ordered drinks, my friend ordered the House White Wine which she enjoyed very much I ordered the Barossa Valley Shiraz it went down really well. We caught up with each other the vibe was pretty chilled as it was quite early on, I enjoyed the atmosphere 4/5.
For food we ordered the Mornay prawns which tasted exactly how I’d imagined 😘👌🏽 we also ordered the trio of dips which were accompanied by fresh lebanese bread and some crunchy pita chips they all tasted great my fave would’ve been the Hommus, our food came pretty quick, the food all in all was on point 5/5.
After ordering a second wine we waited for quite some time approximately 30 mins after asking 2 different waiters. we finally got the wine over but were received rudely by one of the staff on, He obnoxiously muttered under his breath “sometimes you have to just wait” after I politely brought up the hold up, he also proceeded to correct me by saying that it had only been 16 minutes that had gone past not 30 since the order was put through, he didn’t actually take into consideration the first time we ordered as he hadn’t put it into the system to begin with, he wasn’t able to admit fault instead gave out snarky comments under his breath, I found this very distasteful and offensive I expect basic respect especially when paying for a service, waitstaff could definitely use some work I get that sometimes things do happen and we’re only human we all make mistakes but it doesn’t give anyone a free pass to be rude to customers this is coming from someone who has worked in customer service waitstaff 2/5.
On a positive note management handled this extremely well the house manager proceeded to show extreme professionalism he deducted our 3 wines off the bill and was extremely apologetic made sure we understood what had happened on their end and we left happy with the outcome we will definitely be back thank you for having us...
