If you're in the mood for delicious Korean fried chicken, I highly recommend Chi-Koko in Hurstville. Located in a convenient location in the suburb of Hurstville, Chi-Koko is easy to find and there are always tables available.

One of the standout features of Chi-Koko is the friendly and helpful staff. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a warm smile and are made to feel welcome. The staff are always eager to assist with any questions or requests you may have, and they do an excellent job of ensuring that your dining experience is a pleasant one.

Another great feature of Chi-Koko is the free water refill station. It's always a nice touch when restaurants offer free water, and it's especially appreciated on hot days or after a spicy meal. The water station is located near the front of the restaurant and is easy to access.

In addition to the friendly staff and free water, Chi-Koko also has a chalkboard where customers can write whatever they want. It's a fun touch that adds to the atmosphere of the restaurant and gives customers an opportunity to express themselves.

But let's talk about the food. The fried chicken and spicy fried chicken at Chi-Koko are both magnificent. The chicken is cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and juicy interior. The spicy version has just the right amount of heat, making it a great option for those who enjoy a little bit of spice. The dumplings are also excellent and are a great accompaniment to the fried chicken.

Overall, Chi-Koko is a fantastic Korean fried chicken restaurant that I highly recommend. The staff are helpful and friendly, there is a free water refill station, and the food is delicious. Whether you're in the mood for fried chicken or dumplings, Chi-Koko is sure to satisfy...

Hurstville’s brand new and only - KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN RESTAURANT. Reviewing fresh off its grand opening it delivers exactly what Korean Fried Chicken is ; fresh, juicy, succulent and crispy without feeling weighed down by frying oil. The chicken is the best Korean fried chicken I’ve had to date, better than Arisun which is a big claim. The chicken is really the star and the care taken that each morsel of chicken an experience for the senses is clearly evident.

Food; Red koko - fab fried chicken with slightly spicy red sauce. Not enough sauce for my liking but can always ask for more sauce Sweet soy koko- same as ^ HIGHLY RECOMMEND Boneless cheezling koko - unlike other places that usually make this type of chicken dish dry and really unpleasant to eat, Chi Koko adds a clear and distinct Parmesan taste that comes through delightfully Noodle tteokbokki- a stable Korean dish done properly Dumplings - a juicy and meaty experience with crush Bonito flakes adding almost a takoyaki like experience Rice balls- a bit on the dry side, but can easily be rectified with some extra kewpie mayo. Otherwise another standard Korean dish done alright Steamed eggs - perfect. Better than others due to a stronger depth of flavour coming from some pieces of beef and garlic

Service Being a family owned restaurant the staff is relatively small, being that the staff consists of the Mum cooking the chicken in the back and daughters and nieces serving

Ambience A nice and cosy restaurant, relatively small but was told they would increase capacity.

Highly...

"Dumped by a lover" Over the years, the quality of service here has sadly declined, we could tell because we have visited this place since its opening week a few years ago, but we did not mind it. This used to be our go-to place for local Korean fried chicken. But recently (before the covid-lockdown), it has greatly disappointed us. We were looking forward to have their fried chicken after a while but to our great dismay, they “pushed us away”. We got to their doors at 7:55pm, a lady from 10feet away confusingly greeted us. The place was almost full, only a couple of free tables left. She then anxiously approached us and told us that the they will take the last dine-in orders at 8:00pm. We said we were fine with that, since we already knew what to order, having visited this place so many times. The lady did not respond, and turned her back on us, they were busy, we understood. We checked in with the QR code. We sat at a table, then the anxious distant lady approached, and told us that they will close the dining area at 8:30pm. We knew that the advertised business hours are from 11:30-9:00PM. Feeling that we were intensely not welcome to stay, we decided to leave the place. We went next door , another fried chicken place, and were pleasingly surprised as we were greeted with smiles and friendliness. To the ChiKoKo management, we hope you treat customers better, especially in difficult times like the present.

This hurt us, and felt like we were...

Not sure what's with the lady standing at the front desk. The one slightly plumped wearing black round glasses with makeup. First I asked if there are paper menus and the response I got wasn't the best, as if I asked something so random, no smile on faces no sorry facese. But since my mood was good I'll accept it. Second I went to the self serve water tap and saw only one orange big cup. I understand we did came a bit early so the store isn't fully prepped, I'll accept that, so I went to the front desk asking if I could get another big cup for both me and my friend. The response was "no". Not "sorry we don't have cups at the moment" or "sorry please give us a second for us to get things occupied" it was a straight no. Pls, if she doesn't know how to work in the service industry hire someone else. I was tired in being nice as I reached my patient limit, I asked her one more time to get cups from kitchen BC I see them sitting there at the sinks cleaned and ready to use. I don't normally write harsh comments like this but I do feel very disrespected by what has happened today. Please tell that lady if she wants to be lazy just stay at home.

Chi Koko serves up wonderful, almost jazz standard dishes in the form of street vendors warm red soup and beef strips sugared, soya'd and sesame"d - the way Korean food ought to be. I learned this at Heather Jeong's school of Korean cooking at the cultural centre on Elizabeth Street in the city. Go there to learn about flavour. In Korean cooking, the hero dish is the fried chicken. The price at $65 for three dishes and proper drinks is reasonable. Thing is I reckon Korean restaurants are at their best when they serve up numerous side dishes and plates full of generous spirit. The 'banchan' was missing today. But I've only eaten here once, so there you go.

I had dinner here on a Saturday around 5.30p.m. We were the only diners, but I guess most people eat later. We had 2 types of fried chicken; a sweet one and a spicy one. We also had Tteokbokki. You need to order using the scan code on the table. The fried chicken dishes were $20 each, and the Tteokbokki around $15. Personally, I found the sweet chicken too sweet, and the spicy chicken (it was only rated 1 chilli) too hot. The serving size of the 2 chicken dishes was a bit small...$40 could buy you a lot of chicken at other places. I must say though, the staff were polite and helpful. Overall, I probably won't come back that often
