Nhu Y Kings Hot Bread — Restaurant in Sydney

A very friendly local Vietnamese hot bread shop. We've eaten here a few times including their pies which cost an amazing $3.50 and are delicious. There is a large selection of pies to choose from. From memory, you have about 9 choices so plenty of taste for everyone. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Then there is the hot bread rolls they sell. I've made three special orders from here for three parties where we needed about 25 bread rolls. It's a real hit at the parties because the rolls are just crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Finally, their pork rolls are quite good. This pork roll I had this time when I took the photo was MASSIVE. It was longer than my hand length from fingertip to my wrist. It was also so thick that my hand could only wrap just pass the halfway point. Normally at other hot bread shops, my hard would wrap around it much more.

Finally and just as importantly, it taste delicious. There was plenty of meat filling and salad filling to create a balance of flavour with every bite and the chilli had the right amount of heat without killing your enjoyment.

Monday 3rd 2024--Thought we would give it another go.....today we brought 2 bacon and cheese pies, a cup cake and a fresh cream bun. The pie crust was hard. Not at all flaky like a pie should be. It was like biting through an overcooked cookie. The cup cake was dry. So dry my toddler who loves cake didn't want it. The fresh cream bun!!!. I asked him 3 times, is it fresh cream or mock cream. He assured me it was fresh. It's mock!!. We gave it another go and were disappointed more than the first. We will never go here for the bakery side ever again. Money wasted both times. Can't speak on behalf of the sandwiches as we have never tried them. But 0/10 for the bakery.

I don't mind a bit of spice but the pies are to spicy. A plain meat pie shouldn't burn the roof of your mouth. Why can't the pies...

Went there the new owners were terrible. Havent been there for a while but the service and the food was appalling. Pork was burnt and like rubber hard and stale obviously reused from previous day and the bread was stale not from the sauce just the bread it self was stale. They didnt give out numbers so was waiting and the food was out they didnt even bother calling out the order so it went more stale. Really miss the old rolls they used to have never go there again! They didnt care about service and actually got angry at customers for something which was their fault. It was a disgrace worst ever experience and paid good money but wasnt worth even a cent. Really really upset with the quality and the service. Previous owners were wonderful and had great food and service...
