Title: Terrible Experience: Rude Staff and Unwelcoming Atmosphere
I regret to say that my recent experience at Nikan Persian Restaurant was extremely disappointing, to say the least. Despite having been loyal customers for numerous visits, the treatment we received during our visit last night was utterly unacceptable.
Upon arriving for what was supposed to be a celebratory birthday dinner for our friends, half way through dinner we were met with hostility from the staff. Despite the entire restaurant being filled with chatter, we were singled out and accused of talking too loudly. When we politely pointed out that the noise level was consistent throughout the establishment, we were met with nothing but disdain.
What truly shocked us was the response from the staff when we expressed our dissatisfaction. Instead of offering any form of apology or attempting to rectify the situation, we were met with sarcasm and rudeness. One staff member even went so far as to say, "You're welcome," when we mentioned how our evening had been ruined.
Furthermore, when we informed them that we would not be returning to the restaurant in the future, the response was shockingly indifferent. It was clear that our patronage was of little importance to them.
To make matters worse, the staff continued to intimidate and harass the female guests at our table, creating an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere.
Overall, the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy displayed by the Manager and staff at Nikan is appalling. It is evident that there is a dire need for training in customer service and proper etiquette. Needless to say, my friends and I will not be returning, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before patronizing this...
Read moreThey claim they have all seats reserved, gave the worst seat ever although more than 60 percent of capacity of was empty when we arrived. Even when we finished and spent more than 40 mins and were about to leave 40 percent of the seats on corner were empty. Ruined meal when a reception guy is standing 1 feet from your table all the time, every guest that enters firstly stares at you and stand also 1 feet away from ur table and see what u r having and spends 3 to 4 mins standing next to your table before finding a suitable place to sit.
The food isn’t cheap, less combinations available, they can’t change one skewer in a 3 skewer meal. Not ready to accomodate any of the needs. Then cost of 3 skewers is $49 with rice, if you want to swap/ replace 1 skewer that is for example changing from lamb to chicken. And still keeping 3 in total costs you approx $22 more. That’s 45 percent of the price you have to pay to just change one skewer and keep the total still as 3 ?
The kebabs were dripping from oil.
My arrival 6.35 pm. They said “all tables are reserved from 6.45 pm. Then why were there dozens of empty seats when we left after 7.15 pm ????
Let the reception guy enjoy the empty seats, by telling fake reservations. They pretended all are reserved then why they were not all filled even after 40 mins of stay ??
Wouldn’t be going there again, all customers have their right to comment how the found food and how was “experience” on the day. but just look at the response from owner, this is how they treat an...
Read moreMy experience at Nikan's was disappointing, and I doubt I'll return. It's sad to see Persian cuisine, which has so much potential to attract people from other cultures, represented in such a poor way. Despite its high Google Maps rating of 4.3, the food was just average. We ordered the "special kebab", and while the "Barg" and "Kubide" were okay, the "Jooje" was a letdown. It lacked the taste of saffron, and like many other restaurants, it didn't have that BBQ and charcoal smell that's essential for Persian kebabs.
What really disappointed me was the entertainment. The decor was old-fashioned, and the copper platters were scratched and worn out. I understand that copper platters can be nice to serve food on if they're shiny and new, but these weren't. I think the kebabs could be served on them, but the rice should be on normal plates to keep it warm.
We went at 4 pm, and the restaurant wasn't crowded yet. However, while we were eating, the waitress decided to clean the floor next to us! Seriously, if this restaurant was in Tehran, it wouldn't stand a chance against the newer ones. It felt like the owner's taste in design was stuck in the 1990s!
Overall, I don't think Nikan's can even compete with the Persian restaurant across the street, let alone in the future food industry. Despite the great ingredients available in Australia, it takes a lot to make a kebab taste bad, so the fact that theirs was...
