Event Cinemas Top Ryde — Local services in Sydney

It’s not always a positive or a negative feedback that must affect a place or a business. I would like to thank and show my gratitude towards the amazing customer service and very friendly staff of event cinemas and also the Top Ryde service.😇😇 I went to watch a movie in the event cinemas on 30th at Screen 8 and row J seated at seat 7. I would not have remembered this if I would not have lost something important. I was so involved in watching the movie that I lost sense of losing my Apple AirPods Pro in the theatre. I was on my way back nearly reaching home and got a notification “AirPods left behind” and I was panicked and not sure what to do and how to find them. I was disappointed and upset of losing them again because of my negligence. My brain worked and I went into event cinemas site and found the contact number and called them. As we all know the staff could be busy with multiple calls and inquiries. No one answered and I was really curious and then somehow found the TopRyde mall’s number and called them and I spoke to Hyerin ( not sure if I have heard correctly) and I requested her to please help me find my lost AirPods. She surely u sedation my concern and said I will try my best and am sure she might have tried and she called me back and also made an effort to inform me about getting in touch with event cinemas and couldn’t get in touch with them. She assured and said she surely will try to help me and get them to me before her shift ends at 6. I did not stop and kept on trying the event cinemas number and finally got someone and his name started with A, sorry for not remembering the name because I was so tensed that I was not in a situation to remember and ask for anything else. And that nice gentleman promised me to help me with this. I would also like to apologize for calling multiple times and hassling them. And finally around 8:00pm after the show was was completed they searched and found my AirPods Pro and I have given my details so the staff managed to call me back and inform that they have found my AirPods and also said I can come and collect anytime and it was too late and far from my place I told them I will come the next day. And that did not stop there. They called me back again the next day and asked me if I am coming and collecting my AirPods. I appreciate the way they called and checked and assured things are really under control and I can come and collect anytime. The shift manager making sure the next shift person knows about someone coming and collecting and making sure it’s reaching the right person. This might be a long story but this is a real one and I sincerely would like to thank each and everyone. Humanity exists. Apple is indeed smart in technology and yes if we turn on location of our devices we can find them easily. If the staff would not have helped me in finding my AirPods and some hacker would found them, I surely would have lost my AirPods. Thank you once again. 9 June 2025 waiting for the movie to start, 30mins in, a staff member announces they're trying to fix the projector. At 50mins we and others leave to get a refund. So 60mins wasted! We tried to see another movie but Event couldn't validate our parking tickets to accommodate the new end time of this other movie which would finish right on expiry of extended parking time - staff suggested we drive out of the car park & drive back in again - ridiculous! We asked for free tickets for wasting an hour of our time but were told "the manager says there are no free tickets", but a lady (in the same predicament) told us that others before us had received free tickets - not fair!!! I really don't like this Event Cinemas Top Ryde, and the way we were treated has left me with a bitter taste. SO….MANY…..ADS! We sat through 30 minutes of commercials before the film started. Cinema was strangely difficult to find as signage takes you out of the shopping centre into the car park then directs you to a lift outside MonkeyMania which takes you to level 5 which has cinemas 6,7,8 but no staff. We walked down the stairs to the main cinema but anyone can walk into the level 5 cinemas and watch free movies all day. No one checking tickets downstairs either. Seats felt very upright, no reclining. Sound was very very loud. Aircon was fine. I only use Event if I have discounted tickets from Cinebuzz or Groupon or if it’s a niche limited release film I can’t see elsewhere.
