Above Andrew Boy Charlton Pool, and right by the Botanic gardens, you can find Oh Boy. It is a stunning waterside and pool side cafe featuring a breakfast and lunch menu as well as shared lunch plates. The fit out is nice with is pastel peach table tiles, big umbrellas and bright white tables and it all feels very welcoming. It’s a casual affair where you grab your table, order off a QR reader and food is delivered to you. Keep in mind it is really popular and busy at the moment. I really loved the chickpea breakfast bowl with three falafel, green tahini smeared on the bottom, topped with poached eggs, mixed leaves, pickles and yoghurt. It was so refreshing and a great healthy breakfast choice. You can also pick from avo on toast, sourdough crumpets with whipped ricotta and honey butter; or Oh Boy’s bacon and egg roll with Kewpie and hot barbecue sauce on a milk bun or even the bear breakfast, another dish which we opted for. Scrambled eggs, bacon, mushroom and sourdough. A decent portion too. The food was great! For lunch, theres your classic cheeseburger, grilled vegetable panini, vegetable poke bowl, hand stretched burrata, or a steak sandwich to name a few. They even offer a two-course lazy long lunch with a selection of their favourite dishes for just 49pp. Make it even better with a 2-hour beverage package for 29pp – choose from mimosas, blanc de blanc or Rosé! It really is quite the spot for a beautiful brekkie by the water in an iconic location.

This venue made me realise I need to get out and see more of Sydney! It is located at one of Sydney’s most loved harbourside pools, the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool and their menu showcases the Australian classics we all grew up with. We ordered: • Classic Cheeseburger: It was simple & that's why I loved it. • Minute steak, spiced-Vegemite butter & fries: As soon as I saw Vegemite, I knew I wanted it. It was very subtle and it worked. • Fabbrica rigatoni, kale and walnut sauce & burrata: I could curl up on a couch with a bowl of this! • 'The Dip' hummus with smoked lemon almond oil, crudites and sourdough: The perfect snacking plate. Personally, I would have preferred a generous pour of olive oil on top. Being Lebanese, that's just what I'm used to. • Corn Flake Cookie: You need a couple of bites to really get into it but once you do, it’s a cookie you never know you needed! Reminded me of my childhood of honey joys. I highly recommend bringing your swimmers if you pay a visit because the temptation to swim in the pool below is real! [invite]

Well, let's just say, walking into this place felt a bit like walking into a Monty Python sketch - utter mayhem. Our welcome party? A distracted and unhappy looking waiter, who gave the distinct impression they had better things to do. Tried to order but apparently, the computer says 'no' - the system was down. Eventually we got to order and our food arrived. My salmon poke bowl was more like a prank than a meal. The broccoli had been cooked until it had given up on life, the edamame seemed to have been boiled in Dante's Inferno, and the salmon as oily as a teenager's face. Seriously, how do you mess up a poke bowl so badly? It was disgusting and inedible! The wine was served with all the chill of a British summer, slightly tepid. The redeeming feature? A killer view from what felt like a 'Fawlty Towers' kitchen

My husband has already reviewed the food for today, which was terrible, but I now need to add a review about the service. I am sorry if your are short staffed, as they told me 2 times today or if your staff are undertrained, (I am actually not blaming them...this is a management problem).but from the moment we walked in I said "We are in a service 'Black hole' They told us there wasn't a table...so we found our own...albeit with dirty dishes from the previous inhabitants. We were totally ignored for the next hour. I sent my husband up twice to check they had our Q code table order. We did not get our drinks I went to get a carafe of water myself and was told they had no more clean glasses.

Our food finally arrived and the order was incorrect. They took it back to try again. They finally cleared the table from previous people after 3 requests, but we still didn't have cutlery ,napkins or salt and pepper. After our meal finally arrived my husband went to the counter to ask about our drinks...sparkling mineral water, only to be told they had credited us because they had run out of what we ordered. A personal service telling us this and asking if we want to reorder....would have been nice. Beautiful location. But how could they get so many...

Where do i begin…firstly, the online menu is totally different to what is offered in the restaurant, already disappointed, but then the disappointment felt once my taste buds were abused by my “chicken schnitzel sandwich” was somehow way worse. this was a frozen inghams box from coles tasting tiny piece of chicken, squashed between two fairy bread looking square white pieces. shredded lettuce to add beautiful flavour 😐 the beef burgers that came was just that - beef in between the buns. dehydrated chips - $22. the $16 plate of “dips” was actually just “dip”, not plural because it was some knockoff hummus with salad around it. the best part of the meal was a small bowl of pickles which the waiter tried to say was complimentary for the over 50 minute wait, for 50 mins i expected the most beautiful meal, however this was far from it.. my friend describing my pathetic looking sandwich as a “kids meal” & he was in “awe” due to how awful this could truly be. somehow the meal continued to get worse. the only way we could eat this garbage was due to the fact we had not eaten all day. actually the best part was the free tap...
