A lovely park to stroll through and popular with local dog owners. Embarkation park is located at the top of the Navy base carpark. Because of the beautiful gardens and open areas, you would not know that the park is on top of a carpark when you are in it. Mornings and evenings are a very popular time with dog walkers as the park is an off leash area. Arguably, dogs enjoy the park more than humans. Being a dog park, the grass can get muddy in the winter months but it is often replaced in time for the warmer months. You might also see people working out in the park. There are a few bench seats available throughout the park. Tip: if you want to enjoy a picnic, try and avoid sitting on the grass areas. As this is a dog park, it is also a dog toilet area. You might not want to get any of that on your clothes or picnic gear.

Love this park! Perfect place to take the dogs to as it is an off-leash park. It's open from sunrise until sunset but as long as you're in by the time they close it up you can let yourself out of the turnstiles. Also has great views of the harbour bridge and the top of the opera house too! Also features bins with dog bag dispensers!

This is a wonderful Park for people seeking a spectactular view of the city and harbour and for dog owners who can let their dogs off leash. Unfortuantely there is a caveat! The Park is locked at sunset and unlocked (supposedly) at sun raise. I have been using this Park for many years and historically every 2-3 days out of 7 the Park is still not unlocked at 7.15 - 7.30am. This obviously inconveniences many including naval personnel who are parked in the car park below and cannot access the car park without a huge detour. This happens far too often to merely be "human error." Either the Park is managed in a timely fashion or possibly it would be wise to abandon the policy of keeping the Park...

Brilliant views of the city particularly on fireworks occasions. Peaceful and cosy pocket park ingeniously constructed on the roof of a multi level parking station. Parking is for navy staff only who work at nearby garden Island defence precinct. Green walls flowing down from the rooftop park further obscure the parking station. The park is accessed from the end of Victoria Street and Challis Avenue. Great spot to relax on a...
