The service was uncomfortable. I have been here 5 times; the food is always great, and I love the environment and vibe. However, last night’s service made me very uncomfortable. It rained heavily, and the restaurant started leaking water. The leak was just at the table behind us. I found it interesting, so I recorded a video. It affected our dining experience, but the waiter quickly helped us change tables, so all was good. However, the customer at the leaking table, Karen, criticized me, saying that recording the leak video was not nice. She started lecturing me, saying, "If I were you, I wouldn't do that; it could negatively impact the restaurant." 😹 I understand she got splashed by the “waterfall,” and she is the victim, but I told her that she's not in the video, and it is not her business to tell me what to do. Then she started telling the waiter (maybe the manager) that I had recorded a video. The waiter then came over and apologized to us for the inconvenience caused by the leak. Up to this point, there was no problem, and I could just ignore that Karen customer's annoyed behavior. I told the restaurant that the leak was no big deal, just something amusing. She said it wasn’t funny and hoped I didn’t record a video or post it on social media. or say anything bad about tonight. She said she hoped there would be nothing negative about the restaurant. I said, “Sure.” But she kept asking me repeatedly, “You’re not going to post it, right? There is nothing negative right?” I asked her, “Are you doubting that I will post it because of what that Karen lady said? What evidence do you have that I have already said something bad?Is this the service I’m paying for?” The waiter then walked away as if nothing had happened, without any apology. I had strongly recommended your restaurant to my friends and even shared about your excellent dishes on my blog, and I had no intention of posting any good or bad review about the leak. I feel that whether the review is positive or negative, it shouldn’t be dictated by your staff. The leak caused by nature wasn’t your fault, but your attitude & service are the problem,it made me feel like I was being ordered and “threatened.”

Very nice views of the water and upper class atmosphere with great service. The food is also quite good gastronomic type variety, though a bit overpriced for what you get on a plate I thought. Bread basket was really good, though olive oil to dip was a tad too bitter for my liking, good quality nonetheless. Barramundi was good, well selected fish and had no muddy taste as some of them can have that. The duck dish with smoked duck breast and confit canard was a hit and miss for me, who loves duck and it is my go to default meal in France. The accompaniment was very well matched and well done - excellent. The smoked duck breast was really nice though just bit on a tough side. Confit canard was a disappointment when comparing it to just your standard basic canned confit canard from a supermarket in France. It tasted more like baked duck - not confit, and I found the aftertaste to be a very tiny bit rancid for me. Pettit four were OK, tiramisu was not bad, good dark chocolate and not overly sweet which was nice, however a bit on bitter, and, sloppy and wet side. The mango and coconut mile feuille did not look like mile feuille in France but it was exquisite. Things I really did not like was the rubbish scattered at the edge of the restaurant terrace. I think for a gastro and atmosphere restaurant in that price range the management ought to have not overlooked that little detail. Overall, I recommend this place but go for a degustation 5 course meal, for ordering individual dishes you get quite merger portions and 3 course will probably set you back as much as the 5 course degustation option.

It's a beautiful location, but that's where it stops. The service is a little slow. The tables are seated very close together and therefore it's very loud when the restaurant is full. It felt squishy moving between the tables. Don't sit near the kitchen it's very disruptive. We ordered two degustation meals with matched wines. It was $125 with matched wines or $95 without the wines for 5 courses. The menu seemed like it was just thrown together without a thought. The presentation wasn't great either. First course was oysters paired with a prosecco. The oysters were NOT fresh. The granita that they served overpowered the delicate taste of the oyster themselves. Second course: Prosciutto with gorgonzola with a resiling from SA. The presentation of this dish was not great even with the limited lighting of the venue. It looked like a dogs breakfast. I wouldn't even feed this to my dog. Third course: taglionlini with blue swimmer crab paired with a Rosè. The pasta was over cooked and there was hardly any crab in it. The wine was average with this pairing. Fourth course: Beef tenderloin, this dish was probably the best out of the lot but still below average. Beef was cooked medium rare, and the accompaniments were all right. Fifth course: pavlova, nothing exciting about this dish. There was no WOW factor. Overall, there was no wow factor, the food was below average. The matched wine servings were more generous than other places that I've been to. It was too loud to have a conversation with the person across from you. I wouldn't recommend this place. For what you get it's not worth the money.

I've been here quite often usually on Sat/Sun for lunch. The food is amazing as always. Many times we asked the waiters/waitresses to pass on compliment to the chefs. Our favourite dishes are the spaghetti blue swimmer and king prawn hot pot. Make sure you order extra bread to go with it. They are delicious and we have this almost everytime we there. Zucchini flower is also very nice, a bit pricey but worth it. Once they had the char-grilled octopus on the daily special. Really yummy, it's been a while we haven't seen it back on the menu.

I saw a comment below about racism and sadly I have to agree. Everytime we come there, we always choose to sit at the table outside. Just so we can avoid the judgy eyes from certain waiters. Quite too often we received funny look from them when we asked them to bring water, vinegar with olive oil for our bread, extra cheese or when we say no to the wine. I always have the feeling the staffs there are racist to us either because we are Asian or we look too young and older people doesn't like to serve young couple, we don't know. So we always choose to sit outside so we don't have to see anyone and no one has to pretend they want to look after our table.

My recent dining was on a busy Fri night and I was extremely disappointed. The food came out very slow and no apology was said to us (I'm not surprised). Given we sat like dead boring waiting for our food with empty drink, no one wanted to check if we would like another drink. My spaghetti with blue swimmer came out, I asked for parmesan cheese as always and received that cringe look from the waiter like is this lady for real? I felt insulted. Who would say no to cheese on pasta? After the look and tell me "no it doesn't go together", he went to get the cheese for me. That same waiter had also very reluctant to tend our table and help me when I asked for some help. I can totally the different vibes when dinners at other table were served.

I really really enjoy the food there. We always spend quite good money for 2 people when we dine. But everytime we went home feeling very upset of how we were treated. Hubby refuses to go back but I keep asking him to give another try. He said sometimes he received the look that they think he couldn't afford our dinner when he was asked just go to the front and pay when we asked for the bill.

So there you have my 2 cents. I hope other young couples have better...

We dined last night. The restaurant was quite busy so it is expected to be a delay in servicing. Food was great as usual but we had to wait for almost an hour (55 minutes to be exact) for our mains since finishing the entrees and no other nibbles were offered for the wait, except a waitress came to apologise for the delay and advised it would be 5 minutes for our mains but it was 15 minutes later mains were served. I can see that everyone just avoided our table because there was a mix up with our order. By the time mains were served, our appetite were gone. Even though the food was nice but it was not as good if it was served soon after entrees. As a fine dining restaurant, there is certain expectation for the service. Every other waitress and waitors were nice, except a tall guy with glasses and earrings that I found he discriminated us due to our Asian heritage. We'd dined there at least 10 times so this is not new to us but this experience has really turned us off. When I asked for the bill, the same waiter told me I can go pay at the counter. I found it is unacceptable for a fine dining restaurant to ask their diners to pay at the counter without having to see the bill first. I can see other tables the bill was brought to their table and paid at the table when requested. I saw this because there were few tables finished before us due to the delay in our mains. At that moment, I just want to pay and be done with this so no point arguing. It was our anniversary that night as well and we often dined at this restaurant for all other occasions. I did want to let it go but it had left us with bad experience with the restaurant. I do not come to fine dining restaurant to be served like a take...
