McIlwaine Park — Attraction in Sydney

I went there around noon and the place was already packed. They had 6 picnic tables and one barbecue facility for the public to use. You can also bring your own bbq grill and set your own tables, chairs etc . They also have bin for hot charcoals so don’t worry about where to dump those hot coals. There’s no bookings needed as it is a first come first serve basis open space. Although we didn’t get any picnic table, there’s a lot of trees to provide shades which was the case for my group. Lovely park for family gatherings. Best is very close to Rhodes train station. The park has many equipments for all the ages. Multiple seating arrangements for many people to seat. Big shadowy areas to sit on the ground. BBQ stations if you’re planning. Nice pathway for skating, biking or scooters for the kids. The waterfront is so beautiful. The sandy area is to play in the sands and nice water to jump in. The only downside that we faced is there are no food truck or eating arrangements nearby. This place is so serene and breezy. Perfect place for BBQ and Picnic.There is a play area for children. Its wheel-chair accessible. There is onsite BBQ arrangement. One thing that bothered me is the birds, they keep gathering near you, when you start eating something, so be careful of them, they might snatch it.Parking is not much but its best for afternoon stroll or children's play.There is no protective fence/barrier, so beware...
