CHICHA San Chen Rhodes — Restaurant in Sydney

The tea from this branch is average at best, similar to all the other bubble tea places (compared to Chatswood and city branches which were far superior to any other competitor). Didnt justify the premium that we were willing to pay for.

This particular branch's service was appalling. There were many customers in the shop all waiting around for the tea. They had finished about 10 and left all of them on the bench. Didn't call out numbers at all. Made everyone wait.

Everyone was waiting knowing their drinks were ready. The staff kept going back to look at the ticket numbers on the drinks in between making new brews. But still didn't call out any numbers. Finally after 5-10 minutes, they started calling out numbers, which they had already checked over and over again. Don't understand why they were checking numbers and not handing out the teas that were done.

When asked about why they made us all wait, their response was they were busy making other cups. Ok - why keep checking the tickets and leaving them on the bench? Either hand them out, or focus on making new cups.

Edit** Updating this to 5 stars, previously 3. It's been few months now and I've notice staff team has changed. Current team is definitely a lot more attentive and friendly great people.

Tea is always spot on and fast.

However mood dropped due to lack of friendly service. Staff had me standing there for 15 minutes with my drinks on the table and didn't call my number out. I kept waiting just in case it was not my drink but after continual calling out of several other numbers ahead of me. Eventually I had to walk up to ask them about my drink. Strange how drinks are ready but they don't communicate and call ready drinks then stopped after that, not checking and didn't call out the other drinks on the counter. Three staff but all just staring blankly and wiping the counter next to the drink instead of checking. No apologies or anything, no eye contact - which puts a sour taste...

I had a very disappointing experience at this bubble tea shop. There was only one staff member working, while nine customers were waiting. Even in this situation, the service was extremely slow. The staff member was making drinks sluggishly, and while putting stickers on the cups, she was still on the phone.

I drink bubble tea almost every day, and this shop has the longest waiting time I’ve ever experienced. The staff worked slowly, irresponsibly, and spoke to customers in a cold, unfriendly manner. Nobody was rushing her, yet she still looked annoyed and unhappy, as if she was being forced to work without pay.

This level of service is unacceptable, and I definitely would not...
