Reading Cinemas Rhodes — Local services in Sydney

I was there on Sunday to watch Flash in luxe cinema, overall experience is very good however the reason I gave one star was because they don't check tickets upon entering the cinema after you purchase tickets like Event Cinemas. There were this couple who were sitting behind us who clearly didn't pay for their tickets because we saw it online that the seats were still vacant. They were vaping, keep knocking on the back of my chair, i could hear them making out at one point the girl was on top of the bloke god knows what they were up too. They left 30mins into the movie and unfortunately they came back 1hr later. So my point is the management needs to have someone checking tickets at all times people seem to know it doesn't get checked so they take advantage of it. I do understand yeah it cost money to have someone just standing there checking tickets and you rather have them cleaning and serving. But you need to think about paying customers, It all comes down to Principle! it's not fair on people who do the right thing and have to put up with people who become a nuisance disturbing us when they haven't paid for their tickets. If the cinema only sold 20 tickets in a cinema there should only be 20 and not 30!!!! You renovated the Cinema and made it look nice, you need to keeps these pests who don't pay for tickets out for good. If you don't keep loitering pests out you will loose good paying customers...

Extremely bad service today. As I bourght my ticket today from the young lady and as I walked away she said something really rude. Then I waited for the movie to commence but I was not sure If I was at the correct cinema for the screening because there was no advertising for the movie Ninja turltes but yet every other cinema entry had advertising except the one I chose for me and my mother to watch. My grandmother has just passed away recently and I don't know why I keep getting disrespectfull people in Sydney Australia towards me. So then then as I waited in line more disrespectfull people were infront of me in line and at the counter who were working. I don't know how old the Children are that were serving me, so I question why are they so rude and disrespectfull?. I think they must have been raised wrong. I remember when I was 17, I went to apply for a Job at Imax theatre in Darling Harbour and I was discriminated against for that job and for several others and I still don't understand why if I am a polite and a respectful gentleman they still are badly educated towards me so when they are rude to me like today 90 minutes ago I am rude back at them.😭 Why and how do these young people have Jobs if they do not know how to behave them selves and at least have manners. I don't want to mention ethnicity but these rude young people were not black,brown or Asian they were something else. #Im...

Visited last night (Saturday 29th July) and we had a few concerns. First one not major but after visiting Rhodes Reading cinema over the last few years tickets have always been $10 + booking fee, and now they are $16 + booking fee. Totally get it everything everywhere is increasing, but $12 is a massive increase for 2 x tickets, we thought after being away from Australia for 3 months maybe they had renovations done which would reflect the price increase. Or a sign online or in the venue to mention the increase, didn’t see anything.

Biggest issue was the absolute filthy walkways, when we showed our tickets we immediately walked through rubbish on the ground, honestly if looked like the aftermath of a music festival with rubbish on the floor. Popcorn on the ground, bottles, popcorn containers, it was unpleasant, there wasn’t a lack of staff either, if anything that’s the most staff in 8 years we’ve ever seen working there. We went into the movie, thinking maybe when we come out 2 hours later they’ll have had time to clean a bit, nope, still the same if not worse, I’m mad I didn’t get any photos, because whoever was managing was doing a poor job, the cleanliness of a venue was atrocious, but the funniest thing was when the movie finished there was 3 staff waiting to Clean the cinema out, ready with garbage bags.
