The food and coffee is actually not bad here..and I had been coming on and off for the last few years..and stopped coming because of the negative experiences I started to receive from the rude and obnoxious staff, which is a shame because it’s actually very local for me. Today I needed to buy a quick light lunch for someone so I thought I’d give this place another go, after having not been here in the last six months. I lined up to order and there was one person ahead of me. When it was my turn to order, the older lady at the register looks up at me from the register and I was greeted with a “yes?”
I ordered a wrap and was asked if I wanted it toasted, to which I said yes.
I paid and was given my change..which was slammed on the counter. Nothing was said to me, no thank you and nothing about how long it take, or whether I had to wait. I stood aside and just waited.
A few minutes had passed and I noticed the people that ordered after me started to get their food..but I still waited thinking maybe mine was coming..mind you the people after me also ordered toasted wraps. After about 10 minutes and mine wasn’t ready and there was no eye contact by a single staff with mr, I walked up to the counter. This is when the older lady who took my order looks and me and then turns to the other staff standing near the wraps and pastries, and says something to her. This is when I saw the other staff take a wrap from the cabinet and proceeded to toast it. I had been waiting for over 10 minutes! I then said to the staff over the counter “if that’s mine, don’t worry about it toasting it now. I can’t wait any longer” The reply I got was “We were very busy sorry”..as my wrap was shoved towards me. I replied that it really was good enough, especially when people after me have been served. The response I got was “I said we were busy. Do you want your money back?” The impatience in her tone was as if I had inconvenienced her.
I just took my wrap and said “No I don’t. Thank you” and walked out.
If it wasn’t because I was buying the wrap for someone else, I would have asked for a refund.
It’s not the customers fault if you’re busy, or if you don’t...
Read moreThis café is a solid, no-frills spot. Nothing particularly unique or standout, but it gets the job done. The service was great—staff were friendly and efficient, which is always a plus.
I tried the Burek, and unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. It was on the tougher side and not as warm as I had hoped. A crisp, toasty Burek would have made all the difference, so that was a bit disappointing.
On the bright side, the orange juice was fantastic—super fresh and full of flavor. Definitely one of the highlights of my visit. The overall aesthetic of the café was nice too, creating a pleasant atmosphere to sit and relax.
If you’re looking for a standard café experience with good service and fresh juice, this place is worth a visit. But if you’re after something more memorable or a standout meal, it might not quite hit the mark if your only going for the...
Read morePoor quality coffee and service. I asked for almond milk and the female staff used the wrong milk until I pointed it out. Coffee wasn't hot and only filled half my cup. Bad coffee to milk ratio as I couldn't even taste the coffee even though I ordered a large, which is meant to be a double shot. I also asked for a small amount of honey and she did not stir it in with the coffee, which meant it sat at the bottom of my cup and became very sweet right towards the end! Staff need to be trained better in using the barista machine, they need to listen to the customers order and get it right and more generally, offer better customer service. Safe to say I won't be back, but the only reason I went there for a coffee was because my other local was closed. I would have been better off with instant coffee at home and could have saved...
