I rarely write reviews but after todayâs visit to Pho 76 at Wetherill Park, I feel compelled to share my experience.
We arrived at the restaurant after lunch hour, so it wasnât very busy. There was a waiter and a few waitresses standing around. After unsuccessfully trying to make eye contact, we entered the restaurant and seated ourselves. Again, we tried to make eye contact to ask for hot tea and a menu, still nothing. We got up and grabbed the menus ourselves. Now, Iâm not a precious person so I have no issues with self-service. However, what happened next, in my opinion was not ok. We are of Vietnamese background and Pho 76 is a Vietnamese restaurant (for context).
A Caucasian couple entered the restaurant and was immediately greeted by the male waiter. He brought them hot tea and menus and proceeded to take their order and here we were still trying to get someone to just acknowledge our existence đ
Iâm all for great customer service and the couple seemed lovely but it truly saddens me to witness microaggression in todayâs society, especially since I grew up in what I consider a culturally diverse area.
I wish I could say that was the end of our bad experience but it gets worst.
A young lady finally came around to take our order. She was sweet and apologetic for the delay. She took our order and delivered our food. There were no utensils so we had to get them ourselves. The Bun Bo Hue came without the side salad. When I asked her for the side salad she brought us a tray of utensils. When I clarified that we needed the salad that came with the Bun Bo Hue, she apologised and brought out a plate of salad for Pho. Iâm Australian born and fluent in both English and Vietnamese so it canât be my language / accent thatâs causing confusion. I donât know what it is but by this point I just couldnât be bothered to ask for the correct salad or hot tea. I was feeling embarrassed for this young lady and just wanted to finish my meal, pay then leave but what pushed the experience past my tolerance level was when I discovered that the Sweet & Sour Pork my son was digging into was raw, RAW!! Not only was their customer service non-existent, they were also serving uncooked meat to a 5-year-old. Hands down the WORST dining experience EVER! After all that they had the decency to charge us for the uncooked meal.

Read moreI recently visited Pho 76, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptionalâfriendly, attentive, and quick. We tried the special beef soup, spicy pork soup, and the spring rolls, and each dish exceeded expectations.
The special beef soup was rich and flavorful, with tender beef and a perfectly balanced broth that had just the right depth of taste. The spicy pork soup had a wonderful kick, with perfectly spiced broth that left us wanting more. The spring rolls were fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor, offering the perfect balance to the soups.
What really stood out was the variety of food on the menu, making it easy for everyone to find something they'll love. The environment was warm and welcoming, creating a cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
Pho 76 is definitely a place I'll be returning to! Great food, excellent service, and a fantastic dining experience overall....
Read morePho 76 at Wetherill Park seems not as clean as their parent branch in Green Valley. The cutlery and chopsticks aren't as clean; the table smells of dirty cloth. Although a great place for family and casual dining, offering huge servings at decent prices, however the food quality is quite disappointing for some of their dishes. Stay away from their stir fries that include beef or chicken - they are overly marinated in bicarbonate-soda that the texture of the meat is no longer meat-like! They marinate it in bicarb for so long that the meat reeks that disgusting artificial/chemical taste that is inedible. If they need to use bicarb to tenderise their meats until they no longer taste like meat, then their chefs need to learn how to cook meat the right way! Really disgusting. Having said that, some of their other dishes are somewhat a little more palatable - their Hainam Chicken, normally over cooked was nice and tender today;...
