Pho Song Houng which is the old Gia Hoi. Pho Song Houng is actually short for their trading name Pho Bun Bo Bue Song Houng, imma call them Song for short. The broth was on the darker side and was sweet which isn’t my preference but satisfied the craving pho-sho. The amount for the cost $17 was pretty good. Definitely left me full but not as full as I get when I grab a large at Pho An or Than Long both in Bankstown. The condiments were varied and plentiful. Always important for me but no fresh chillies. Pho-pa if you ask me. The beef was balanced with the amount of noodles. The sprouts and mint fresh and was ample. I like a lot of sprouts so this pleased me. Kim didn’t touch his so I indulged even more. I’d say in the race for the greatest pho in Bankstown they’re running at 4th or 5th place at best, maybe a 3rd with Than Long. Me Pho still takes the trophy for me at this stage. Imma score Song a solid 13.5/20 but they deserve a Google 5z It’s good to change it up a bit. Oh and the patrons were getting stuck into the Bun Bo Hue which I do enjoy, so I may check that out on another visit.

Judging by the reviews maybe I ordered the wrong dishes. Either way, why have a whole menu just to do only two dishes right. Get rid of the other 30++ choices and just do what you do right. Maybe just try the pho or the beef noodle soup since if they can’t even cook that then that’s a real problem. The salt pepper chicken and the bun mam was atrocious. Batter on chicken still raw and the bun mam doesn’t have roast pork? Has fish balls and a few squid pieces? Broth was so bland it was like hot water with a lot of sugar. This place tries to keep costs down by slacking on essential ingredients. Food overly sweet if you want diabetes. Inedible and an absolute shame to even be considered Vietnamese cooking. The other diner who came with us got food poisoning from the chicken. The worse food I’ve eaten and that’s saying a lot. $40 better spent at Maccas.

Went to this Vietnamese restaurant in Bankstown. The name was Gia Hoi at shop front. It’s different name in google, Pho Song Huong. So I don’t know which one is recent and correct name. I’ve been to Gia Hoi few times in the city. It must be a franchise. I ordered special vermicelli salad which came with loaded grilled pork and prawn cake. It was nice. Fresh and delicious. Service was fast. It has a lot of dishes to choose from. I like the variety of chillies on the table, a box of tissue and a jar of hot tea. It’s very convenient instead of waving the staff for every single thing. Other good thing it is currently running on 20% grand opening discount. Mine was $20 down to $16. I was a happy diner.

Heey folks, my first time in a Vietnamese restaurant with my friends. You will try a tasty authentic Vietnamese food so far. I would say that its similar to Chinese food, in the menu there are a variety of options for all, so don't worry if you are vegan or vegetarian. I really enjoyed the noodles and the vegetarian rolls. I'm Brazilian and I don't like too much spicy food, and the good point is you can choose the level of spicy you rather. One thing completely different from Brazil is the attendance, the service is not so friendly, without smile, for instance. Moreover, I always observe the cleaning, so I think it's reasonable. Regarding the location, it's very near to the train station and it surrounds to others stores. One curiosity is Bankstown is a Vietnamese suburb, as you can walk around to see many things from Vietnam. I recommend it, the food is very well served (one meal might serve easily 2 people), yummy and the price is affordable 😋 -- Heey folks, minha primeira vez em um restaurante vietnamita com meus amigos.

Very tasty authentic viet food! The crispy chicken was cooked to perfection which paired well with the fresh vermicelli salad. My boyfriend enjoyed his combination stir fried noodles. Although the seafood was lacking - characterised by one prawn. Although the average cost ($15pp) is slightly higher than others in the area, the portion size is reasonably generous. That is, the stir fried noodles (alone) could easily feed two people. My partner and I weren’t able to finish our individual dishes, but we left the restaurant very satisfied. The wait staff were friendly too. We would be happy to come back :)

Easily recognisable franchise from the bright orange and yellow sign. They are always very busy, especially since some of the nearby competition closed down. Standard dishes such as Beef Pho, Bun Bo Hue and combination broken rice are all quite good. Althey also have a great selection of Vietnamese drinks. Most are sweet enough to have as a desert. They can be a bit short handed during lunch or dinner times. Don't hesitate to be a bit more aggressive trying to get attention from the staff. Good luck finding parking in the street. Easier to park in the multi storey council car park nearby.
