Went today as my usual go to cafes in Eastwood were closed.
The service was friendly and attentive, no complaints there
Ordered a mixed juice and big breakfast. The mixed juice was quite nice, but a bit overpriced for $8.50 for a glass of juice
The big breakfast was a bit disappointing, I ordered poached eggs but when it came out it was overcooked and the yolk was solid, sad as I was looking forward to a runny yolk hence ordering it poached! It also tasted rather unseasoned/could use some salt.
The texture of the sausage included in the big breakfast reminded me of a frankfurt with the skin peeled off, really soft with barely any bite to it, the flavour was okay but I wish it was a firmer or higher quality sausage.
The bacon was pretty standard, a generous portion was given, maybe like 4-5 pieces? Or maybe it was just 3 giant pieces. Although the portion of bacon was appreciated, it was disproportionate to the rest of the plate, having to split a single tomato slice to eat together with at least 3 large pieces of bacon. I do wish there was more tomato or mushroom to offset the bacon saltiness, or just less bacon on the plate.
Overall, the food was okay, but it reminded me of just making this at home - there wasn't anything particularly special about it. I did expect at least the eggs to have a runny yolk, but maybe it was a one off mistake. I recommend looking at other cafe options around Eastwood if you are looking for a...
Read moreOrdered an Aussie breakfast and the portions were just incredibly small. I ordered extra avocado which was about 1/8th of an avocado cut into really thin slices and spread out accross the plate to make it visually look like it was worth the extra $2.50. The mushroom portions was terrible. There were exactly 8 slices (2 small mushrooms cut into 4 slices each) which just didn't feel like an Aussie breakfast. The tomato wasn't even half a tomato at the least, it was just a slice of tomato..
The food took really long to come out despite it being a Sunday and very quiet. The tables around us were served first even though we got there before they did and ordered before they did. Food took 25 minutes. The waiter was really friendly although didn't come back to check on the table if we'd like to order anything else.
All in all, the food tasted average, the coffee was average, the portions are incredibly small. Staff were friendly. The place has a great atmosphere. Although this wouldn't be my first choice for eating a brekkie/ brunch. In terms of price, it wasn't worth it for the size of...
Read moreAs the business owner advised my previous review was aggressive, I would like to apologise that the review came out that way. I am happy to add another star for timely feedback on my review.
I am happy to reword my review, but I stay with my reality, and I stay on the same page with other customers who have left one star reviews on their food.
This place is good for sitting down and enjoy the pond, but I personally will not recommend breakfast. The egg was really not up to my taste, reasons being: They could really have put more salt in it, and the texture was cotton like for some reasons, which makes the bread hard to swallow. As you can see from the photos, both egg and breads are on the dry side, it would have been much better if the egg was more fluffy with more oil. Taste of the coffee was very weak,...
