Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club — Restaurant in Sydney

Went to the Club tonight in the Coffee shop for a quick meal. Ordered Chocolate Milkshake and Spinach quiche and salad , simple meal I thought BUT how wrong was I.

After waiting over an hour with others orders being given out who had arrived after me and more fried type cooked food, I though how difficult can a quiche and salad be. Seeing other people going over to ask about their meals I decided I had enough.

With one chef (the other one was away) and just two ladies to do orders, clear tables, bring out meals, attend to kitchen as well, I thought this is totally unacceptable. Even Security guys were trying to assist the ladies. My heart went out to those ladies who by know were under a lot of stress.

When I went to the lass behind the counter, I could see she was physically upset and in tears, again she tried to apologise. I told her I could no longer wait and said I had the Milkshake but would like a refund for the meal I have waited too long for.

I told her it is not their fault and totally unfair for their staff and patrons TO HAVE TO ENDURE this type of NON SERVICE.

As I left 2 staff members were talking with a Security Guard in the foyer and told them..... 'SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE IN THERE, IT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND I FOR ONE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS CLUB (I have a five year subscription but I will forgo that).

WHAT TYPE OF PLACE IS THE CHAIRMAN AND BOARD RUNNING??? YOU WANT PATRONS TO SUPPORT THE CLUB AND YOU HAVE A BISTRO RUNNING AT LESS CAPACITY STAFF LEVELS AND IS TOTALLY UNFAIR TO THEIR STAFF AND PATRONS WHO SUPPORT THE CLUB.

AS I WALKED OUT I THOUGHT I WILL NOW TELL MY FRIENDS NOT TO BOTHER PATRONISING RAMSGATE RS,L IT IS INEFFICIENTLY RUN AND AN INSULT TO THOSE WHO TRY AND SUPPORT IT . MAYBE THE CHAIRMEN AND BOARD NEED TO BE REMOVED AND PROPER PEOPLE WHO CAN RUN A CLUB, WITH PROPER STAFF LEVELS IN EACH SECTION OF THE CLUB, AND A CONCERN FOR THE HEALTH AND EMOTIONAL WELFARE OF ITS STAFF.

WHAT I EXPERIENCED TONIGHT IS A TOTAL INSULT TO THE DIGGERS IN WHOSE MEMORY THIS CLUB WAS ESTABLISHED. SHAME ON THE...

I have never been so discrimanted against in a club before tonight. I went with friends to celebrate Australia Day & to see the band advertised. I bought a bottle of champagne & sat down at the table with my friends. I had a couple of mouthfuls then I went to reception & asked a female staff member where the toilets were. I then went off & came back to the table only to be told not to touch my drink becsuse security had approached my friends while I was away & told them I was drunk & I was only allowed to drink water. I thought they were joking so I had a few mouthfuls then topped my drink up with ice. Security was watching me then approached our table saying I had to leave because the staff member I asked for directions to the toilet told security I stumbled to the toilets & I was drunk. I asked to speak to the manager who was a young female & she also accused me of being drunk.I insisted I had done nothing wrong & this was my first drink but she would not back down so I asked for a refund because her bar staff sold me the bottle of champagne & we still had half a bottle left. She did give me a refund before having Security escort myself & my friends from the club. NEVER again...

The WORST dinner experience ever at Mike's kitchen. We were absolutely disappointed and unimpressed. They charge normal restaurant price but there was no table service at all. After we were seated, we were told to make our order in the queue at the counter where there was only one staff taking order for nearly 8 different customers on a Saturday night. We order 2 entrees which were chicken wings and salt and pepper squid for $18 each and a main of seafood basket which would take about 35 mins as we were told while ordering. However we'd waited for more than 40 minutes and none of the entrees was ready. We had to ask the staff to see what was going on. Eventually we got to pick up our entrees at the counter ( Yeah, they weren't even delivered to the table.) The salt and pepper squid was just extremely oily and there was not even one piece of lemon coming with it. The chicken wings were just slimy. Oh and the water they serve tasted like coming out from a rustic pipe. Highly suggest you to bring your own water if you decide to walk in this horrible place. After all, it was just very slow but pricey fast food served at Mike's kitchen. Not...
