I shopped in here after shopping at coles about 5 months ago. The older lady behind the counter asked if I needed a bag. She then said ' oh no I can see you've got a bag.' I placed my bag on the counter and the women proceeded to go through my bag touching everything in the bag( which in covid times isn't permissable). Then she matched my coles receipt up with the contents in my bag. She then proceeded to hold up a kit kat bar and said 'what about this' in an accusing manner. I said ''well it should be on the receipt" to which I had to point out where it said Medium bar on the receipt. She said ' 'oh sorry I didn't know'. Ā Ā Ā Read moreāIām a regular customer at this IGA store, and almost every time I buy fresh produce, itās moldy, old, and wrinkled. Whatās shocking is that these arenāt discounted itemsātheyāre supposed to be āfresh.ā The lemons, berries, carrots, kale, etc., are all in poor condition. When I mentioned this to the cashier, they admitted that the produce isnāt fresh but frozen, and after defrosting, it quickly spoils, leading to mold.

Ā Ā Ā Read morejust overall a really lovely place.
from what i know and have heard, the iga has been around for a while, having different owners, a different store name etc. however ever since the recent renovation the place has improved significantly.
the staff are very friendly and caring. its always very welcoming, and the music is always good. for a family owned small business, it was surprising that prices were always cheap. and it's nice not be judged by the checkout girls when you buy an insane amount of sugar.
its also very considerate that they are consistently open on public holidays- not even matched by big brands like coles or woollies.
always a great place for a quick...
